Should I request a 4 top for dinners?

I will have a DS(6) and a DD(3) when we go on our next cruise in 2012. What are the pros and cons on requesting a 4 top? On our last cruise just my DW and myself and our assigned table was all adults. We had a great time. Anyone have experise good or bad on shared tables with young kids?

We've done it both ways, just us and with other families. Our son enjoyed having other kids at the table. We've found that it does seem to help keep them entertained.
