Castaway Club OBC

I read in a thread awhile back something about Castaway Club OBC? Is this something that you 1) automatically get 2) get if you book with Disney 3) get if you book onboard or 4) get some other way. Does anyone know if you get it if you are already getting OBC from your travel agency (Dreams Unlimited)? Lastly, is it tiered according to your club level? Thanks guys!

It is an OBC that you get when you do an OBB [onboard booking]. It is tiered by your level. For 7 night+ cruises it is silver $200, gold $275 and platinum $350. Not sure about the 3/4/5 night OBC because we don't book those. I think the silver is $100 though.
You can get OBC from your TA as well.

As Lisa said, the Castaway Club onboard credit is obtained by doing a rebooking on board. The amount is determined by the length of the cruise (fewer than 7 nights vs. 7 or more nights) and the CC level. It cannot be combined with any other DISNEY offer (like Disney Visa credit, online booking credit, etc).

It is completely independent of any OBC from a TA--your TA can give you anything they choose.

The amounts start at $100 for less than 7 nights and $200 for 7 or more nights.

OK, so question:

We did an onboard booking on the Dream back in March for the Magic in March 2012. We got the 10% discount, reduced deposit, and $200 in OBC. My question is, if I transfer that booking to a TA, will I get to keep the $200 OBC from DCL?

Well, I named my TA at the time I booked onboard the Magic last year and my TA says I'm getting the 200 plus the 100 they give me for having the booking with them.

Ok, so I have another ticky tack question.

I will be going on my first cruise in April, so technically do I not become a Castaway Club member until I get off the ship? I will be rebooking a seven day, what kind of OBC can I expect? Do I get the $200 silver benefit, or do I not get that until my second cruise on board booking?

You will get the OBC if you book a cruise on your first cruise. That is because you will get off the ship on your first cruise before you board for that cruise. HTH.

Ahhh, that makes sense, thanks! $200 plus a DU OBC will be very nice!

Is the OBC per room or just the family? We have two rooms due to having five of us in our family.
