Fist Pumpin' at the POLY shore!

Hi everyone!

While I have been back to WDW on a series of mini trips (um, 5 to be exact) since my last PTR back in August 2010.... (letting that sink in)
And honestly, I still have to finish that last day on my Trip Report "I think I need my head examined..."

I have three upcoming trips that I am very enthusiastically planning for at the moment. My overall plan is to complete a PTR for each one; however, the soonest trip is coming up in May, and it's the FIRST trip I've ever taken with my mom (DM), Mother-in-law (MIL), and 2-year old daughter (DD). This thread is dedicated to "Mother's Day 3G Getaway."

Here we go...

The Specifics:
Dates: May 5th- May 9th, 2011
Accommodations: May 6-8- Poly Club Level, Garden View
Dining: Regular Dining Plan
# of Travelers: 3 adults, 1 toddler.

The Cast of Characters:
Me: Stacey. 32-yr-old mother of one, wife, daughter, teacher, neurotic planner, weirdo, absolutely o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d... with many things... Johnny Depp comes to mind. ANYWAYS, I used to be blonde.


My mom, Lil (DIS name: LilBug). Ridiculously awesome mom to me and my little brother (in the Navy- we're so proud), super wife, hilariously funny, and the woman make is obvious that YES, you can be cool and hot at the same time!

P.S. Mom's the tall one in the black shirt, not the white furry one with the pink bow. She just wanted a picture with my mom.

My MIL, Johannie. Trend-setter, bring-the-fun-to-the-party type, strong and confident, yet, typical Latin love ya to itty bitty bits and pieces, oh and extremely hospitable "here have some more bread, you look hungry, yes you do, yes you do...."


last, but NEVER least... My DD, Cameran. She two, she nuts, and she loooooves her some Disney (man, I hate it when people say that. I can't believe I just did) I will be calling her Cam (hence my DIS name, camsmomE... "Cam's Mommy"), Cami, Camster, The Cam, etc...


How excited are Mom, Cam and I??? (Johannie doesn't know)...

Hi Mom! Welcome to the DIS! I was hoping to get more written tonight, but Cam had other plans for me.

For all our new (and old) friends who may be reading this soon- I begged Mom (LilBug) to join the DISboards to help me write this PTR (and later the TR). You're in for a treat... the two of us in one "room" always means trouble of the humorous sort.

We have only two ADRs scheduled at the moment, mostly because this will be our first time staying club level, and we're looking forward to experiencing the CL lounge offerings.

We will arrive on WDW property early Friday morning (5/6), and plan on hitting Captain Cook's at least once while we wait for 4PM to roll around (I purchased Epcot After 4 Annual Passes for both moms).

5/6 @ 7:40PM BIERGARTEN for dinner.

Saturday will be our resort day, so lots of club lounge snacks and another Captain Cook's meal. I am still thinking about adding a dinner reservation (hoping for 'Ohana, thinking about Kona as a plan B)

ETA: I did decide to add an ADR, so now we have a Kona reservation for 6:20PM on Saturday 5/7

Sunday is Mother's day, so we have a brunch ADR.

5/8 @ 1:30PM THE WAVE for brunch.

So I went (with DM) to the local Hobby Lobby and purchased three regular-sized, plain, beige swingpacks, and one mini one for Cam

Took them home, added a personal touch or two with a Letter/monogram button for each gal, and used stamps and fabric paint to decorate each bag "Poly style."

I here, thanks for the invite. Beautiful family and crud your organized also. Wait until you see my trippie (well I need to start one wouldn't I??) and see what un-organized looks like....

Okay, hopping over to see if Kimmar updated, yeah right, I already know the answer to that. I stop in every once in a while, I tend to forget about the trip boards....

Thanks- her cute factor keeps her out of trouble sometimes! We'll be easy to find- we'll be covered in green Mickey heads and laughing our butts off.

It seems that I can never do anything on a small scale...

When I booked the trip for myself, DM, MIL, and DD, I immediately thought of ways we could "bond" on this trip. I wanted us to all have matching "somethings." After hours on ebay and etsy, I finally found someone who would give me a great deal on some awesome tote bags, and monogram our names on them.


They are really nice canvas bags with vinyl lining, pockets inside, one larger pocket on the outside (side), and sewn-in monogramming (as opposed to screen printing)

anyways... then I got to thinking "With what shall I pack our bags?"

Here. We. Go. Again.

I have a shopping disorder.

I called my MIL to make sure she was getting excited about our trip (keep in mind, she doesn't (and won't) know the actual location of our trip- she thinks we're staying at Coronado Springs Resort- and she has NO idea about any of our plans. Anyways, I called her and during the conversation, she said she didn't have any decent shoes to wear.

Off to buy shoes. I managed to buy a pair of Keens for me, MIL, and Cameran, and a nice pair of Tevas for DM (I knew she wouldn't like the chunkier shoe on her very dainty toes )

Here are my MIL's Keens (I have the same pair in beige,so I'll just show pic of hers) They are called Keen Coronados (ironic, I know)




Here are my DM's Tevas- well, the package... I want to leave them sealed for her.


and I don't dare take a picture of Cameran's as she's already worn them over a dozen times, and they are D I R T Y!

After the shoes, the bag was still pathetically empty. So I bought nice big drink tumblers in our favorite colors


and I bought all four of us one "Poly-ish" ponytail holder and a hair clip.


Almost satisfied with the filling-of-the-bag... I took DM to Vera Bradley retailer in the mall and bought the three adults a lanyard and a clip zip ID case, to which I then added a clear plastic card holder (for our passes and KTTW cards)


at this point, the bags are pretty much stuffed, but somehow I will manage to shove more stuff in them before we leave. like Rockstar Roasted! MAN! That's good stuff!


and I bet it would fit nicely in these babies!


Although I'm sure we'll find better uses for those lovely drink tumblers...
