That's certainly possible. FWIW, we were at Universal for two days before moving over to Disney and, with the exception of WWHP, those parks were dead. You could have shot a cannon down most of the streets in US on Sunday without much risk of hitting anyone and IOA on Saturday wasn't much busier.

I'm glad you had such a great trip! It's so nice to hear about the times when everything goes right

I have been avoiding thinking about Disney for a little while because September seems soooooo far away. I'm happy that yours was the first post I read today when I stopped by the boards - now I can get excited!!

Enjoyed Sum of All Thrills for the first time. Did it twice with DS14. Normally motion simulators are not my thing but he talked me into it. Better that I expected.
Where did you fit this in, touring wise?

The line never got that long and Epcot had a "10" rating for crowds. We did SOAT in the morning at like 10:30 or 11AM, and then did it again in the afternoon at around 3PM. The line at 3PM was only 2-3 minutes long. In the morning it was 10-15 minutes.

Whatever the rating prediction was, if 10 is the highest then I can guarantee Epcot never got anywhere remotely close to its busiest at any time last week. I would not base any expectations about what to expect during busy times at WDW on how things were last week.

FWIW, along with the 10 rating TP also had predicted wait times for SOAT and everything else of course. They said SOAT would be 10-15 minutes and it was - at least the first time we rode and then after we got off the second time. TT had longer lines than TP predicted.

In general looking at TP's park ratings for WDW and DLR and wait time data, I have not been very impressed. When we were at DLR last July it was some of the lighter summer crowds I have ever seen. Looking back at TPs historical rating last summer they listed all those days as "10" too. Not predicted but actual 10 days.

I just checked their site for Monday last week at Epcot when I was there and they say it was in fact a "10" day.

Bottom line is I know what TP says it means to be a 10, but it does not seem to translate into my experience as being a useful predictor of anything I can relate to at either WDW or DLR.

I agree. I can't see the point of using a crowd-level predictor that rates the light crowds last week the same as the most packed day of the year. Those programs seem to be even less reliable than your local TV weatherman.

I totally agree about the Dolphin, but you can't beat that location. We are trying out the Boardwalk next trip so hopefully we can get that Disney feel along with that great location.

I also agree about Dinosaur. It is one of my favorite rides and I actually like it more than the Indy ride at DL. It is definitely scarier.

Why won't they fix the Yeti? Its been so long since I've seen him I've almost forgotten what he's supposed to do. Really I'm ready for them to rehab this ride to fix the Yeti, not matter how long it takes.

Space Mt. at DL keeps WDW's Space Mt.'s butt. I really wish WDW had put their $ into improving the ride instead of the queue. Although I didn't realize there was anything wrong with it until we went to DL.

I'm ready for a change with Illuminations too. Wouldn't something like World of Color be great at Epcot or AK?

Thanks again for the report and all the information you have provided on the DL board.

Thanks for the report HG!

I would love to stay at the Dolphin! Looks like a really nice hotel, and being able to walk/boat to Epcot and DHS would be convenient.

My favorite two WDW attractions are yours as well! Although it's a bummer that the yeti wasn't working...

While I also think that Dinosaur is underrated, it's so freakin' loud in there! I feel like it's worse than blasting loud music at a concert...and that's coming from a teenage guy!

I also did SoAT on my last trip and was impressed. Those robotic arm things are super cool and the interactivity is great for Innoventions. WDW's Innoventions as a whole is leaps and bounds better than DLR's sorry version.

Would love to eat at Teppan Edo and San Angel. Have eaten at Le Cellier and . The pretzel bread? so yummy! And I'm a big steak fan to begin with. mmmmmm

I didn't notice much difference in riding WDW's Space between 2007 and 2010 but

That Backstage Magic Tour sounds incredible, and something that I would totally look into doing!

Super sweet report and thanks again for the feedback!

HydroGuy, just found your TR link in your sig and clicked over. Thanks for the review and updates. We also plan to eat at Teppan Edo and I just read your DisUnplugged review of the tour, which sounds awesome. We are going in the fall so hoping for lighter crowds and good weather combined.

At WDW, do your kids like to focus on things they love that also exist at DLR, i.e. the "favorites," or do they want to mostly do things that are "new?" I am debating how much time to allot to MK seeing as it is so much like DLR. I already have the "better at DL" etc. chart, but I'm not sure if they'll want to ride Space Mountain 3 times, or if once will be enough "because we can ride it at DL any time."
