I love all of Anakins new crafts. I am so happy that acting/stage classes are such a success and so much fun for him! Now lots more people get to see that amazing smile!

Oh your pictures made me homesick for the BW area...someday I am going to stay in Y&B Club just to take a dip in that pool!

Wow - amazing statistics on Epilepsy!!! My only experience is my niece that has seizures brought on by a softball injury when younger. She developed scare tissue from being hit in the temple with a softball. Seizures (not sure of the appropriate title of the type) that are more like blanking out and staring out into space. She took medication for them for years that helped then came off of the meds when started a family. Was able to stay off meds through pregnancy and 1 year then just recently started back. Doing ok except for the headaches that go along with it.

Tell Anakin if he makes purple soap, I will send him a donation to get him started! I love purple and will glady support his efforts - great kid!!!

I am blessed in nobody in my family having epilepsy . However as you know , I come into contact with almost everyday at work. I see gran mal (as they used to be called0 very regularly and others from simple absence seizures on up. People can have multiple seizures daily and not realize it . I did not however know those stats. that is truly scarey. Certainly warrants much more attention than it is getting .

I love seeing Anakin's big smile in the pics and then his more serious Superhero look. I'm sure he can be quite the actor.
When they first opened the resort. It was shortlived, thankfully.

Thanks! Yes, he's quite a character.

Oh how sweet that you guys were able to take a walk down Memory Lane at the Beach Club. I'd love to stay at either the Beach Club or Yacht Club one day. My heart wants to stay there but my pocket book tells me no.
Yes, he loves the classes. Today's class was developing plot. Only 3 showed up since it was Columbus Day. He said it was the best class ever.

I did have to translate to the teacher. The teacher was talking about Romeo and Juliet. But my boy was talking about Gnomeo and Juliet (the gnome cartoon movie). It's a good thing I walked in when I did. He got a chuckle out of it. They were talking about two totally different endings, lol.

He will find out Thursday what part he got. Today we got a little teaser. The director said that he has a funny part and she thinks he'll like it.

Our first two stays were at the Beach Club. Back then it was $200/night but that included our stay and our passes. Our first stay at the Boardwalk Villas was $185/night. Glad we got our chance back then. Prices are way too high now. I hope you get a chance some day. It IS very convenient to be so close to Epcot and DHS.

so great he is enjoying his acting classes so much!

your photos of the resort are very pretty!!!
Thanks!! He loved all his goodies! He had lots of fun with the Boba Fett Pen and put the stickers away to save them.

He really does love it! And the people have been so wonderful to him.

Thanks! His smile is soon going to have a big gap of empty teeth. He lost a bottom tooth that doesn't have a replacement tooth and the eye tooth next to it is very loose. His next orthodontic appointment is the end of the month.

Yes, you are blessed!

We didn't realize he was having seizures nightly until he had the grand mal in 2010. We thought he was dreaming and making noises and chewing because he was dreaming of eating. Who would have thought that sucking noises and chewing was from a seizure. I knew about grand mals and absense seizures but was unaware of the signs and symptoms of partials.

Definately warrants more attention than it's getting.

After the boat ride and stroll around half the lake we headed back to Pop Century to swim. We had never swam in the Bowling Pin pool. Over the years, our rooms were always closest to the Computer Pool or Hippy Dippy Pool.

We realized we had forgotten Anakin's pool toys at home. So we went to Everything Pop and bought a pool noodle. Yellow was his choice.

We went back to the room to change and were a bit disappointed that housekeeping hadn't been there yet. She was a few doors down. We changed into swimwear and headed out.

I had a cooler bag with me. Some of our water was still frozen, so I grabbed them to take.

I love the theming of the 50's area! I tried to get a nice clear picture of the "cigarette boxes". Ok, they aren't cigarette boxes, but they sure look like them from a distance. They are transitor radios.

What do you think? They look like cigarette boxes? huh?

There were people on chairs on one side of the pool, the other side had nobody. The pool itself was empty. It was perfect! Temperature of the pool was cool. It was nice and refreshing for a day time swim. For night time, it would be cold.

More pictures from around the pool area

Perfect way to hide a utility shed!

When we went back to the room, Mousekeeping was finished. We were very pleased with the room!!

We didn't swim very long, but Anakin got his very first sunburn on his shoulders. He doesn't ever want another one again. We went to Everything Pop and bought some solarcaine. His shoulders never peeled. Just turned back to white a day or so later.

We went to DTD for supper at Earl of Sandwich. Met up with our friends. We all had our usuals. Afterwards, we went shopping. This bag was the purchase with purchase at TrenD. I bought my MIL her birthday present there, and got myself the bag!

Just a quick word about the bag. I love the colors, love the bag, but was disappointed when the first bedazzle fell off the first time I used the bag. I guess that explains why I saw so many bags turned to the words instead. Underneath the bedazzle is just a white circle. I'm going to try to look for another crystal to glue into that spot.

Yes! They do look like cigarette packages. How funny! The grounds around the pool are cute!

I am with Anakin, no sunburns!!

Michael's or even the arts and crafts section at Walmart will have crystals for you to fix that bag. I can understand wanting it. It is so cute!

Congrats to Anakin on his funny role in the play. Sounds like a fantastic group that organizes the classes and plays!

I think you'll enjoy the theming of Pop when you stay there. Be sure to check out the display windows near check in. It's a stroll down memory lane! Are you on the Pop thread yet? The New Pop Thread Link and the Old Pop Thread Link

For his low Vit D we were told to let him outside 30 minutes at a time with no suntan lotion 3 times a week. I think that the increase in the new medicine may have made him more prone to sunburn. We have been letting him outside for shorter periods of time more frequently. Hope that works with the supplement. Though I am really concerned about the new med and the increase. He is sleeping 14 hours a night, and he is out. Also I did a CE and it said that this medicine has been shown to cause boneloss in women and men, though less in men and no studies have been done in children under 12. His neuro said he's been using it in children for a while, but I don't know if he is aware of the bone loss? Neither dh nor I were aware until that CE.

Thanks. I will look there. Walmart or Hobby Lobby are where we go the most. If they don't have it, I'll check Michael's.

I wish the bag had a zipper, but other than that, I love the bright vibrant colors!

Let me tell you. Anakin claimed them almost faster than I could take pictures of them.

It is a group of parents who are prominant in the community who have special need adult children who began this. It's run solely off donations from the community. We don't have to pay anything for this class or the costumes. In his other class, it's $50/month and we pay for any costumes or additional props they don't already have there.

In addition to the other things I said he has improved from the classes, he is flapping less. Any time he gets excited he jumps and flaps. During OT they tried to train him to clap instead of flap, but he just couldn't. Last class there was an adult there who flapped alot. Anakin noticed it, but didn't say anything. Last night he was watching a cartoon and he got all excited at this one part. Instead of flapping he hit his thighs and belly. I asked him what he was doing, and he said trying not to flap. I suggested his hands instead of belly and thighs, it sounded painful.

Tomorrow night he finds out his part. We had been told all the kids will be whos from whoville. But I am starting to wonder if he will be the dog? That would be funny. Every time he gets on stage, he gets down on his knees and does Yoda from Star Wars in 60 minutes. I know it won't matter to him what part he gets. He will just be thrilled to be a part of it!!!

I got an email from the education director there. She would like him to audition for a play and feels he would be great for their children's theater. They are doing the Aristocats in June, but the practices at the end would cut into his SWWs. It will be a tough call. She wants him for the general ensemble, not necesarily a lead. For the audition he'd have to sing 16 bars, learn a dance while at the audition, and read for a part. He is doing much better with his reading, but still not reading fluently. So I don't know how that would go, without someone working with him before hand on how to audition?? They all love how his voice projects and how he isn't one bit intimidated in front of people.

The audition they all did for Grinchmas was an audition disguised as an activity. None of them knew they were auditioning. They were just having lots of fun with a familiar line that got twisted into a rhyme.

I have an email asking about rehearsal times if it's evening and weekends. The special needs one is only weekday nights (and Friday nights) even close to play time.

Dh has 3 of the 4 Star Wars Weekends off for vacation.
