Universal Studios support for gay/lesbian team members

Universal Studios Orlando started a support group for gay and lesbian team members and their friends. I am so proud that I work for a company that supports all lifestyles and orientations.

Here's a youtube link talking about the program:

I am very happy to see them doing that. I only wonder why it didn't happen sooner.

I think that this video is related to the Trevor project. In my experience, Universal has always had a gay friendly work environment. They have also had health insurance benefits for gay partners for many years.

Agreed. Disney has had PRIDE for over 10 years now. Glad to see Universal is finally on board (officially, I know they were always supportive unofficially).

I think you will find that Universal has always been supportive of gays--just like Pixar has been supportive. But Pixar also just recently came out with a video which was praised here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2603660 So even though the video is fairly recent for Universal Studios this does not mean that they are trailing behind Disney in their support. Universal has much fewer employees than Disney so any support groups would be smaller also. Honestly, I didn't want this to become just another comparison of Disney versus Universal thread. They both do a great job and those of us who work for either company do not feel animosity for the other castmembers/team members. I am proud of what both Disney and Universal do for gay pride. Both do a great job but there is also room for improvement within both companies.
