But Aiko and Jorge were hands down the best serving team I've had in all my DCL cruises.
Ditto!! Had both Aiko and Jorge on our B2B cruise last week. This is the 4th cruise we have had with Aiko and requested her specifically for our B2B cruise once I found out she was onboard. Totally agree about head server as well

I agree!! We had Grissell on the Dream on the 2/20 sailing. She was so smily, personable and really wonderful! I would totally ask for her again.

Her Assistant Darko was a little green. Very polite guy and tried hard but he seemed to still be learning the ropes. Drink service overall was slow on this cruise- probably still working out the kinks so I think that threw him off and made him rush and do things like leave the uncapped bottle of beer on the table after he served it and forget to pop the top off! He did this to our table twice. Again, not a big deal and I would certainly enjoy sitting at Grissell and Darko's area again.

Thanks so much for the responses regarding Kendall. We really liked him on our 2nd cruise (he was the Asst Server) and saw him on our 3rd cruise, but wasn't aware that he had moved up to a Server or we would have requested him.

This is the first time we have "requested" a server and did so through our TA. Does this usually work out or do I need to head to dining reservations the first afternoon to make sure they have it right?

By the way....Go Wildcats!!!! (responder was K-State Grad) They play tonight and are currently REALLY hot!

Kendell is definitely on the Dream!

We had him for the second half of our B2B last week and he is awesome! Another member of our group as well as our travel agent had specifically requested him on behalf our our group of 14. They just couldn't make it work for the first leg of the B2B due to the size of our group but we did get him for the second half. He and his assistant server, Tiziana (from Italy) were top notch.

I can see why so many people request him. We are booked for the Fantasy in 2012 and are hoping he will move to that ship so we can request him again. I do recall that he said his contract was up in May and he would be going back home to T & T for 6 (or 8?) weeks then would be back on the Dream.

Oh No - We sail 5/29-6/3. I hope we don't miss him! Anyone sailing in March or April and would be willing to find out when his last DREAM sailing is during May? If we can't have him then I will be seeking recommendations. Thanks!

Dream server suggestions

Can anyone recommend a great server for our upcoming cruise? I've heard some of the servers are fairly new and not quite up to speed so I would love to request a favorite of other experienced cruisers. I realize it will just be a request but I know it never hurts to make a request!

TIA!

I am going to merge this thread with an existing Dream server thread with lots of recommendations already.

We were on the Dream 3/27-3/31 -- Our server was Valentin from Romania and he was great, really knew the menus and was very good.

Our assistant server, Arunee from Thailand, was good, but didn't know the wine list that well and, at times, seemed to disappear.

Our head server, Fitz, handled everything and every question that was given him with grace. I think my wife asked him for at least one recipe every night...

All around a good team, and given time, they all will be top notch. That being said, they did not rise to the level of our first DCL cruise servers whose names we can still remember 11 years later. (October 1999 - Magic - Marko & Yurko)

Fitz is an awesome head server. I couldn't decide wether to request to be in his section or to request a specific server. Went with requesting a specific server, but still saw Fitz many times during the cruise.

Marko - is that the same one that now manages in Palo? Love him.

We had Collin (Trinidad) and Isabella (Polland) on the Dream in March. I specifically requested Collin because we had sailed with him last year as an assistant server. Once he moved to the Dream he got promoted to server. Our table mates were amazed that he remembered us and our standard drink orders. He made my son his special punch even though drinks were no longer his job.

Fantastic News

We will be on the Dream in three weeks and requested her. She was our asst. server on the WBTA, she deserves the promotion. Yeah!

We had Rajesh (Mauritius) and Brigita (sp? I can't remember what Eastern European country she was from)

They were great and prompt. Our Head Server was IVO and was amazing taking care of food allergies -- even going to the extent of getting the banana/coconut appetizer from Pirate night for my daughter for breakfast the next day.

I know Ivo goes on vacation at the end of May but Rajesh and Brigita will be on through the middle/end of July -- we are requesting them again for our July 10th cruise.

Pascal

Just back from the Dream ... Pascal was our Head Server. He is wonderful. very attentive to all his tables. He knew everything about every guest. The first night, he was getting to know everyone and when he lft our table, was writing everything down on a small tablet. On our last evening, he and the crew sang "Happy Birthday" to our daughter. He remembers everything.

Pascal was our head server too on our 4/10 sailing. I noticed him and his little small tablet as well! He would come by and check up on us every night. We were a party of 18!! And we had a kids table of 8 kids-one night he impressed them with a little magic trick using the silverware and dishes on their table. haha!!

Our server was Ildiko who was mentioned early on in this thread. We loved her. So kind and patient with our big party! Our assistant server was Amp. They made a great team. They had me when I saw them cutting up my 5 year old's chicken strips!! And every night they would get a booster seat for my 3 year old and pick her up and sit her in there, making sure she was comfortable.

LOVED THEM!!

Hey, all ...

For those of you that had Pascal, do you remember what country he was from? There was a Pascal on our last Wonder cruise, tall, handsome, and from somewhere in Europe, not one of the "biggies" like Italy, France, or England (sorry, my geography is terrible!). If he's the same one that is on the Dream now, we'd like to request him. Any pictures?

TIA!
