Just been informed by Thomsons, that for booking for June/July 2013 the prices won't be available until April May 2012.

Still looking around, although one thing that is also playing in my head is possibly trying for a 10/11 night break instead of 14.

Wondering if a 14 day break is going to be quite tiring to come back too, whilst those extra days when we come back might be a little kinder on us.

Would probably mean a flight from Manchester or Newcastle or something like that.

It obviously does put us a few days short, but with our little girl I'm not sure if the likes of Universal will be mega important anyway, and could possibly get both parks out the way in a couple of days. Seaworld would be another probable one day and Epcot would be one day.

Well...................................

I had a little nosey about and went onto Direct Holidays, just checking their prices and for a trip out from Glasgow on 30th June for 14 nights staying at either WDW Sports or Music for the 3 of us it came to £2854.00. That's £840.00 cheaper than Thomson who were doing that for Pop Century. Manchester is £2779.00.

Unfortunately we must go in 2013 due to finances, but I'm hoping that could be a ball-point figure to work for the following year.

Notice DH are now almost £3.5k, so that price has went up quite high.

Can save a few hundred if I travel on the Thursday, although that does play havoc with holidays at work.

If see something similar come next July for 2013, think I'll put a deposit on it.

Thanks Tiggs, I'll check that out, however with them being in conjunction with Virgin hardly doubt it's affordable.

Of all the companies I've looked at Virgin have been the most expensive and never in a million years would I book with them for the huge sums of money they ask for. They are way out of my league.

Just a small update, obviously prices are away next year, however on re-assessing some things, we're thinking of possibly not going for 14 days, but going for 10 nights (or 11, whatever is available).

Due to work commitments, we'd have to try and time it for a 14 night trip and then be back to work practically the next day, but on the less days gives us a few days rest though.

Obviously this may impact the days we spend in parks, but in all honesty I don't think the likes of Universal is going to appeal too much to our little girl (she'll be 7 when we travel). Would probably try and do Universal in 1 day or such, the only real places I want to see are Harry Potter and The Mummy from a personal point of view, with maybe any little additions the little one may have. If need be, maybe a 2nd day at most, or even part of a day. Mix that with a day at Seaworld and the rest would be for Disney only.

Having looked for next year to get a rough guide, it would seem that we may have problems getting 10/11 nights from Glasgow, therefore maybe have to go from Manchester or the likes. Did look up WDW and could get 10 nights but it's quite expensive and is around £600 more expensive to leave from Manchester.

Hi from my experience with travel city direct they have always come up way cheaper then any other company! Like alot cheaper lol it's hard with the time of yr your looking at price wise, I'm dreading the yr I decide not to take my boys out of school...also I see you was looking at pop century it is a brilliant hotel! We have stayed their with our 3 boys a few times their ages at travel was 1,1,3- and then 3,3,5 and they LOVED the theming of the resort staying on site does make everything so much easier if you can afford it. We also have looked at the new art of animation and the prices are way above the value resort prices they are actually the same as a moderate or higher right now as it's only the suite prices available but some of the price lines for the rooms was seen and they was also not value resort prices and I doubt they will be for a while

Yes, unfortuantely my dates are glued on, must be during the school break and looks like the dates I'm looking at are the cheapest.

I guess that must be were the price difference comes from due to the dates or maybe the departure location (I am Scotland or Manchester only) as TCD and Virgin are never cheaper than Thomas Cook and Thomson for example.

I did come across one price, but the only thing is that it looks like it must be paid in full on the day of booking, we'll probably be hitting the plastic anyway but just that it would probably incur some sort of interest or charges relating to the credit card charge.

But the price was from Thomas Cook booked as a Flight + Hotel (not package) at Pop Century leaving from Glasgow. The price was £350 more expensive than the best price from Thomson leaving from Manchester, but personally I don't think it would save much in the long run i.e. travel to manchester, probable hotel needed at airport and then the hassle of driving to/from airport.

I was thinking that the other addition I'd need to remember was that of Transport to Hotel whilst in Orlando, but I noticed they had a Disney Magic Express offer which is free and has transport to/from airport built in with some additions like avoiding check-in and stuff like that.

Seemed very interesting although would have to look carefully at the whole paying so far in advance etc. Obviously could wait till later and see if 1. The price would fall and 2. Means more money would have been saved away meaning less of a hit on the credit card.

Further update:-

God knows why I've not noticed or it has changed, but checked some prices for next year as a guide and WDW themselves are just as cheap as the TC offer I saw from Glasgow.

Flying from Manchester would only save around £300 or so, with fuel, hotel and the whole hassle of driving down, it'd probably not be worth it.

And it maybe even added bonus booking with WDW themselves. So they might be the one.

Update on progress:-

Booked everything, just need to pay a balance off on part of accommodation and that's us (will need to get Universal/Seaworld Tix still).

Managed to book via Disney for accommodation and tix, 6 nights at Caribbean Beach Resort (DDP included) and 8 nights at Art of Animation Booked.

Fly from Manchester.

Also got $500 disney gift card to spend so that'll get our little one Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique, 2 x Pirates League (Empress + Mermaid Packages) and we also intend to do quite a few stuff such as Cindy's Royal Talbe, Aloha Dinner Show, Pirates & Pals Cruise, Tomorrowland Dessert Party.

Also hired a Ford Mustang Convertible for part of the 2nd week (when we'll be heading out of Disney a few times).

Planning is in overtime at the mo!! :D

Update:-

Booked all our ADR's with the exception of Desserts Wishes Party that isn't open for booking yet.

BBB, Pirates League (twice), Pirates & Pal's Firework Cruise, CRT and a host of other DIning booked.

Universal tickets bought, as well as sorting our essentials such as ESTA's and Insurance.

Just need to sort out Seaworld (hanging off for any deals i.e. free kid or something), and thinking what to do for departure i.e. travelling by car or train to airport and possible hotel, as well as transportation whilst in Orlando to and from Airport.
