POR no longer have room for 5?

Well I must be crazy or something is wrong. I have been trying now for almost an hour try to find dates for 5 people at POR and keep getting the message that it exceeds party size limit. I've tried with and without the specials, at odd dates up until December. Has POR changed to a 4 person resort too?

I just tried it and it let me. How old are your girls? My kids are 8, 8, and 6 and I have an "offer" saved for the five of us at the end of August. Hmmm. I know they say the trundle will only accomodate up to a certain size/age. Hope it works out

I just tried the last week of August for 2 adults and DDs are 4, 4, and 4. that's strange

I"ve slept in the truddle bed last year and I fit in it and I'm 5'4 and not light LOL. It was actually confortable.

I have heard that at least one of the five must be under 9 due to the small size of the trundle bed. Now I have not seen this confirmed anywhere, maybe post this question on the Port Orleans Riverside FAQ thread or call Disney. If anyone will know its Andrew Willey who has a website (www.portorleans.org) devoted solely to POR and he also maintains and is frequently on the POR FAQ website right on this board.

Good luck!

We are staying 8/28 to 9/4 and for room only (cheapest room) it is less than $900! I found the link at the bottom of a page of orlando hotel deals from travelzoo.com
I cannot post a link because I have only posted 5 times.

Are you sure you're looking at Riverside and not French Quarter?

I've heard this too, but was able to book this for my family of 5 - the youngest who is 9. I'm hoping its OK - I won't be messing too much with this reservation!

I have heard so many conflicting reports on this its hard to know what to believe. I am glad you were able to book, there just aren't too many affordable options for families of five!

I am going to go out on a limb here. I was wondering this one evening over my dinner and a glass of wine.

With the new room category of "preferred" and they are only in AB, I am wondering if the availability of rooms for five decrease at busier times?

In other words, if a whole lot of people book the preferred rooms and they are all a family of four and then the other AB rooms book up for a family of five - would there then be NO availability - therefore people unable to book a room for 5.

I've thought of that too. I will be calling Disney today. I've tried clearing the cookies and history from my computer and still can't book a room for 5. We'll see what Disney has to say.

I have family of 5...

and was able to book just fine. My kids are 18, 16, and 13.

Hopefully it was just a glitch! I would definitely call though!

We're a family of 5 and I just booked a stay from 4/1 to 4/7 with no problems. I read in another thread that POR was going to begin renovation soon, but that they would still offer accomodations for 5.

We stayed at Riverside in December of 2010 with 5. My kids are 15, 14 and 11.

Had a good time, but the proposed "refurb" is much needed.

Call Disney direct. You should be able to get a room.
