When's the best time see animals at AKL?

We're here now in Kidani. When's the best time to see the animals on the Savannah from our balcony? Last night around 6 pm we saw cattle. I've been up since 7 am and there is NOTHING except humans picking up cattle poop. It's 10 am. A friend said feeding time is great. When is that?

Patience....it is a large animal enclosure and since they are allowed to roam; you are just having 'bad luck'.

When we were there last, we saw a large variety of animals from our balcony.

We found from about 2pm (usually when we returned for our swim time) until early evening was when we saw most zebras and giraffes. Sometimes the kids strolled along the landing and could see them from the viewing windows coming towards our end of the Savannah

Trouble is I'm NOT patient. The commercial showed a lady sipping her morning coffee with a giraffe right in front of her balcony and I want my giraffe. Just kidding. We did get some zebras yesterday around 11 am. It's after 11 now and our two cattle are here. It's killing me because I planned more down time than usual so we could enjoy the view. This is our second stay here. I don't think we're cut out for Savannah view. We can always go to the public viewing areas.

I believe they take the animals in for checks between 8:00am and 10:00am.

Ah-ha! That's very helpful infomation. Thank you! Last night my friends were telling me they'd pull back their curtain and there'd be a giraffe, so I haven't given up hope. We still have 4 days.

You can ask at the front desk and they can tell you when feeding times are.

Success! There was a scheduled maintenance on the fire alarm yesterday. I was too busy having fun to pay attention to the blinking light on the room phone that turned out to be a message from the night before warning me that it was going to happen, so we evacuated as we were told. At least we took the time to get dressed. After 15 minutes of the alarm blaring constantly, we returned to our room to find all kinds of animals right in front of our window.
