What's Your Favorite Ship?

We've travelled on Disney Magic a few years ago and I have also been on two Royal Caribbean cruises. The Disney Magic seemed small compared to RCL, but I can see us going on Disney cruise as there would be more for our kids to do in the day, plus the night time shows. So am currently looking at Disney Fantasy.

What is your favorite and why?

I voted for the Fantasy, because I liked it the best of the 3 I have sailed on.

I voted for the Magic, but if you're looking at the Fantasy, you'll be very pleased. She's an awesome ship.

Magic seemed small compared with RCL. Not sure if Fantasy is bigger.

Do all ships provide same number of activities for kids?

I voted for the Wonder... the others are too big to fit through the Panama to do the Alaskan run.

The Wonder is my favorite ship because of the staff. The service on the other three just hasn't compared for us!

Why would one prefer the Dream over the Fantasy?

The Fantasy is an improved Dream.

The decor?
Shorter sailings?
Nassau?
Double dips?

Perhaps those that chose the Dream haven't sailed her sister.

TIA

I have sailed on all four Disney ships and I love the Fantasy the most. I think the decor is beautiful and I love the various bars and nightclubs on this ship the most.

We are going to be on the Dream most likely since I don't want anything longer than a 3 or 4 night to start with--not sure how my seasick-prone husband and super-anxious-about-everything daughter are going to fare on one. Will we be disappointed with the Dream? I've only been on a Carnival cruise, a very long time ago, and none of the rest of them have ever been, so I'm not sure what to expect anyway.

The Magic can carry about 2500 passengers, the Fantasy over 4000. So the Fantasy is comparable to the "Freedom" class RCL ships. The newest ships are of an INSANE size.

The One I'm On

Sailing the Dream in January. The truth be told it's any Disney ship I'm on.

Looks like Fantasy is the winner, follow by The Magic. This surprises me as isn't The Dream the sister ship of Fantasy?

We took a Dream cruise this year for the same reasons. Once on board the anxiety all but disappears (at least for me) and I took Bonine every night and didn't get sick. I would try it (any seasick meds) before your trip though to see how you do with it. The Dream was the perfect starter cruise for us. Now we have a cruise on the Fantasy booked. The anxiety tries to creep back in but I just think of my days on the Dream and it is gone. Such a great ship!

The best are all 4 DCL vessels.

Their design, style, classic lines and the Disney Magic just make them head and shoulders above the other cruise ships out there.
