Need help with proposal!

Hey!,
I'm going to DisneyWorld in August with the goal of proposing to my girlfriend . This is my first time at Disney so I am a bit lost as to what to do. My main concern is that I would like the proposal to be private. So what are some beautiful private areas where I could propose?

I was thinking of having supper at Narcoossee's then walking along the beach to the polynesian resort to watch the Wishes Fireworks. I would propose during or after the fireworks. What do you guys think?

Also, does anyone have any other suggestions or proposal stories they would like to share?

Thank you very much!

First Congratulations

Second, that sounds like a wonderful idea. How about stopping in the area of the wedding chapel to pop the question?

The Polynesian beaches won't exactly be sparse with people at fireworks time but I do agree it can be a lovely part of such an evening. How about a stroll around the torchlit grounds afterwards while the crowds clear out some? I think the Polynesian has the most romantic setting of any resort in the World (particularly after the kids get tucked into bed). Then, the beach on the TTC side of Sunset Point should be pretty empty.

Good question! I should consider this further and come up with a list of quiet, peaceful settings for this and similar purposes.

Good for you!

Why not propose on the Tower of Terror? Either way she's going to scream!

Juuust kidding.

You could do the whole Lady and the Tramp thing - Take her to Tony's Town Square and put a ring in her meatball!

Or not. She might eat it.

Okay okay serious here:

The beach sounds perfect.

There is also the Wilderness Trek at Animal Kingdom. Apparently the end of the tour is quite breathtaking. And the tours are small.

Awww The beach idea is perfect, you should always go with your own first instinct...though the PP is right, the beach isn't always very secluded during Wishes, but I'll bet you can find a quiet-ish spot. I just got chills thinking about it though Good luck!

if you are staying on site you can visit MK during EMH and there are a couple of quiet spots at the castle at midnight - would be special.

Thanks for the advice :-) I was thinking about MK during EMH because one of the nights that we are at WDW, MK is open until 1:00AM. I imagine by that time the park must be pretty quiet?

I also like the idea of taking a walk around the polynesian after Wishes.

Congratulations!!! I like the idea of a proposal under the fireworks!! You could strategically sit in the top row so no one behind you is watching and being lookey-loos!! That's a nice private prospect considering doing it at the fireworks. Also, we watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Contemeporary Resorts observation deck. The old Contemporary that is, not the new one. There is an observation deck that faces the Castle and you can see the fireworks from there just fine. There are a few benches and are usually full if you aren't there REALLY early, but there is plenty of room behind them in the corner of the deck where you could bring a blanket and get a drink from the bar to watch the fireworks and then POP the BIG question!!!

I also like the other poster's idea of visitng the wedding chapel and then spring it there!! Or even, just a quiet evening stroll along the water's edge somewhere is nice. A picnic with a blanket, a bottle of wine, some sandwiches on the grass somewhere on the resort where you are staying it romantic!!

No matter what you do it will be spectacular.

My husband proposed to me at a ZZ Top concert and it was spectacular. It meant so much he wanted to be with ME forever!!! The concert was a perk!

Congratulations! How exciting. Maybe you can call guest services and maybe you guys can come up with something amazing that may involve a character or 2. What resort are you staying at? Maybe you can get help with fixing up your room and doing it there!

We are staying at POP Century so I think it would need a lot of fixing up for it to be romantic. Haha!

I'm hesitant about asking for help from guest service. I'm worried about them having a problem because we are a same sex couple. Can anyone comment on how helpful the cast members can be in this situation?
