Buy your tweens and teens a waterproof watch (and one for yourself) and tell them EXACTLY what time they have to be at dinner, then don't worry about them. If you raised good kids, they are not going to turn into bad kids on the ship.

Do not let your husband feed your daughter M&M's for breakfast on the car drive. Not pretty as you hand the agent your id's but a funny story later.

As a courtesy for tipping, don't put the tip on your card. The workers must then claim it on thier taxes. If you give them cash they can "fudge" the tip income a little

We've gone on 2 Disney Cruises...here's some of the things that we've learned:
1. Bring pillowcases and sharpies to have autographed...these are the BEST souvenirs for the kids! 2. Buy pins before you leave if you want to pin trade. Again, much cheaper than buying pins on board, and the kids love the hunting! 3. We LOVE decorating the door! We planned ahead for the 2nd cruise and I carried the stuff in a scrapbook 12x12 plastic case, which came in handy to bring all the navigators and paper stuff home. 4. If you are a scrapbooker, ask for stuff at Guest Services...you'd be AMAZED at the things they have just hanging around that they will give you! 5. Bring baggies and order room service sandwiches to bring for a snack on excursions. 6. TURN OFF THE TECHNOLOGY! No one needs your updates until AFTER you are home! 7. Be sure to ask for the galley tour..adults only...on a sea day..free, but you need to get a ticket. And also for the Alice Tea Party...families...free, but need a ticket. 8. Be nice to your servers, room stewards, etc. Tell them what you like...you might be surprised at what you "find" in your room or at your next meal! 9. Order Mickey Ice Cream bars or Mickey Rice Krispy treats from room service...neither are on the menu, but BOTH are available. The Rice Krispy treats are on a stick and the ears are dipped in chocolate! I'm sure there are more, but that's what I can think of off hand. LOVE THIS THREAD!

Unexpectedly meeting a character at the elevator can make you feel like a kid again. (In our case it was Timon)

Awesome thread. I love the idea about ordering sandwiches from room service to take on excursions. May I ask, do you order them the night before or will they make sandwiches in the morning that you can use?

Wear your swimsuit under your clothes on boarding day, especially if you get on the ship early like we did. You can't get into your room until 1-1:30 to change and the bathrooms by the pool will be packed with people trying to change themselves and all their kids into their bathing suits.

Be aware, in many ports you may not take perishable food off the ship. Only pre-packaged snack type foods (granola bars, etc). You could (at worst) be fined, or (at best) just asked to throw it away.
