What you can't bring is anything in any kind of glass storage container, sharp cutting knife (plastic knives are fine), a hard sided cooler or any kind of cooler/storage that you have to drag behind you. The exception to the glass containers rule is baby food or medicine that comes in glass bottles.

yes you can bring plastic is what you can't bring:

The following are not allowed to be brought into the Disney Theme Parks:

Items with wheels, such as wagons, skateboards, scooters, inline skates, shoes with built-in wheels, two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances, strollers larger than 36" x 52", suitcases, coolers, or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations), and any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller
Alcoholic beverages
Weapons of any kind
Folding chairs
Glass containers (excluding baby food jars and perfume bottles)
Pets (unless they are service animals)
In Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park (for the safety of the wildlife), balloons, straws and drink lids are not permitted. Note: they now have biodegradable paper straws.

God Bless America

When my kids were very little, I always had a little (six pack size) soft cooler that we brought, with juice boxes (or sippy cups) and some little snacks. DS has food allergies, plus little ones sometimes just need a snack. I just left it in the basket of the stroller.

You can bring cheese sticks, grapes, crackers, etc... Just be careful of what needs to stay cold - if it's hot out I'd avoid any lunchmeat type things.

One of the very best tips I picked up off these boards was to bring frozen bottles of water. Bottled waters are something like $3 each in the parks.

Plus frozen water bottles keep the other stuff cold if you have chilled food (my family can't live without bagels and cream cheese!)....although stuff can get soggy. A hint from another board: bring extra ziplock bags to separate the water bottles or the food/snacks from each other.

Since you guys know so much about what's allowed, can you bring in reusable thermos like cups/mugs?? They are made out of stainless steel with a pop-top lid. At home we usually buy water in the 2.5 gallon spout jugs and fill our containers all day, so I was curious if we can use these same containers IN Disney?!

You can bring in anything including your own reusable cup as long as it's not glass. We bring water bottles (not disposable) with us every time. Fill them up at any CS (free ice water) or water fountain and add Crystal Light for flavoring.

Yes we always brought a small pack lunch each to the parks. Once or twice it was commented upon by the guys checking our bags but that was it.

Bring food and water to MK

This is great information. I didn't know that you could bring stuff with you into the parks. I will do that from now on to save on DDP. It will help make the snacks go a bit further. Thanks!
