When I was in high school, we got our hands on an airfoil (aerodynamic thingy on a semi cab roof) that my friend's dad took off of a semi tractor. Know what's even better at getting up to speed on the snow and ice? A snowmobile. With 30 feet of rope behind it. Tied to Walmart brand plastic sled. Good times.

Peanut Butter Crud!

Just stopping in to let those of you who signed up for the Holiday Card exchange I have sent PMs with the addresses. If you did not get a PM with addresses, please let me know.

Work has been a bit hectic lately... I took a new job a couple of months ago, and its a lot more work, more responsibility, but overall I'm enjoying it... just less time for the boards.

Glad to see the good news from Zerfs and oXar. Hope all works out for everyone.

I hope to be back in the swing soon, but right now I'm a bit swamped.

Oooooh, that sounds like a good time- especially after a few cold ones!

Yeah, I've done that once or twice... I've never had a snowmobile myself though. We just don't get snow that consistently stays around for a long time every year. I'd love to have one, but I just can't justify spending that kind of money on something that might end up sitting in the barn 51 weeks out of the year.

Now for some things that I've seen, but didn't attempt myself... when I was at Purdue, there's a large hill near the football stadium that is basically a parking/tailgate area for football games. When it snows, everyone flocks to the hill. I've seen people go down that hill on cafeteria trays, in a shopping cart, on mattresses, on a sofa, in inflatable rafts... pretty much anything you can think of that isn't bolted down.

We became experts at, uh, "borrowing" the cafeteria trays for sledding runs when I was in college. We always gave them back in relatively the same condition they started in.

And I'M considered a redneck...

Down here, just the threat of snow will shut the place down...where I used to live in SC is was tolerated well enough, but still had tendency to cause panic

Never understood that, heck, we got at least two or three good snow falls a year, and people still freaked out

As for today....low 70s and I have the boat on the back of the truck for a few hours leave this afternoon

Yep! DW has been talking about getting a new house... I told her that's fine... as long as we keep the cool zip code! (And at least a 2 car garage!)

What a bummer letdown. It was snowing good until about 1:30ish... when it turned into rain! Had about 2 inches on the ground at that point. Byt the time I got home it was all pretty much slush. No chance for snowman/igloos making

Might get another opportunity this weekend. Still iffy on the forecast.

We have our holiday potluck this afternoon. Should be a couple hundred people running around the office today... eating and being merry. I see they have the karaoke machine set up... might have to go get some of my Disney CD's in there...
