I've read and watched all (that I know of ) interviews with Laurie Holden and I think she was upset she was offed. I think I read where she actually said she would have liked to see Andrea go on. I liked her from the beginning. She was so messed up from the death of her sister. I don't blame her for being angry and wanting to shoot things up. I did get mad at her for being so mean to dale back then. I liked dale a lot. I thought it was cute how he wanted to protect her.

Or it could just be that he looks at her like a sister.

Where do the comics have them going next? Do the comics have Daryl hooking up with anyone? Just curious, but if it's considered a spoiler then don't answer. So, they are straying far from the comics with the TV show?
Daryl isn't in the comics. I've also wondered about him being gay.

I don't think Daryl is gay. They need to keep Daryl an eligible bachelor. If he's with a girl or boy, he might lose his appeal. I think his current relationship with Carol is good... I guess I wouldn't mind seeing it develop further.

I always thought that Michonne/Andrea could be a couple, but I guess they were just really close best friends. For a minute, in Andrea's dying scene, I thought they were going to kiss.

I love how Lorie's ghost didn't appear in the final scene. Rick kept looking up, waiting for her, but she never appeared.

Is this bad.... I think Carl might be the new Shane.

And the governor is still alive. I did not expect him to shoot everyone up. That was just crazy - I'm glad Karen lived and was able to tell everyone else that survived what the governor had done.

micknpluto -

I didn't read all the text in that link yet, but how could Andrea be brought back? As a ghost, like Lori? Or how would it work?

I don't know. I do get attached to characters to a certain extent, but as I've mentioned in this thread before, this is the one and only show where I don't mind if major characters get killed off! Even if it's heartbreaking or upsetting - even if I like the character - I love that TWD is basically the one and only show on TV that is not afraid to kill off major players at any ol' random time during a season.

Other shows would either back away from killing off any of their major stars, OR they would wait until the season finale to do it, OR they would wait until the series finale to do it, OR they would kill off one major person and no one else, OR they would make us think someone was dead and then they would bring them back. TWD defies all of those typical plot points and does its own thing. Even "Lost" backed down from killing off too many important people during the course of the series (Jin & Sun didn't go out until late in the game).

The fact that anyone could go at any time on TWD is one huge reason I love the show. In the zombie apocalypse, no one is 100% safe. Unless a new world is created for/by the survivors, chances are they will probably all die eventually (though we may not see all of it happen on the show). They know they're on borrowed time. That endless sense of 'who's it going to be next' adds to the tension and suspense for me, because I know it could be someone I like. If TWD suddenly stopped killing off people for whatever reason, or became too formulaic, I'd think they were selling out. I don't expect that TWD (with the current cast and setting) will run for more than 5 or 6 seasons at most, because the premise of the show is simply too dire.

Of course, AMC or another channel could bring back TWD with an all-new cast in an all-new location, so it would be sort of like the same series but different at the same time. That would be an interesting idea.

Another sort of 'gloomy' show I love is "Breaking Bad." There is no question in it that the lead character (Walter White/Heisenberg) is going to die in one way or the other, and that other people will die along the way. It's just a matter of who and when and how. But it was pre-determined that the series would not run too long - it's only going to be 5 seasons in total - because there is only so long they can drag out this rather dangerous storyline without the lead character getting killed or dying some other way. It would be illogical to try to find ways to keep the show on the air.

So I think that on TWD, it wouldn't be true to the nature of the concept of the series to keep too many people alive.

I don't think he is. I read an interview with him and he said he played Daryl like a guy who was a virgin, too ion his protective shell from his abusive past and family, he was never able to have the courage/confidence to get with a girl.

I wonder how they'll bring back the governor. Maybe he'll take a page out of michonne's book and turn his too little minions into his chained up zombie protectors.
And I can't imagine that the prison is all that secure. The governor knows about the breached section in the back (isn't that where he attacked Andrea?). So Rick's people would have to secure that somehow.
I'm very tempted to start reading the comics to get my zombie fix while waiting for the next season!

All the prison yard should be planted with crops, people should make little homes out of the cells and be playing games and reading (prisons gotta have a library). Then the Governor can show up out of nowhere at the mid season finale and cause chaos.
I think they have to do a time jump, since the majority of the show takes place outdoors and they start filming again in May.

I wish that the writers could pick up right where season 3 ended, so that we could see everyone getting to know each other and how the winter goes.

At least with all of the old people moving into the prison, Hershel has a chance to jump into the dating pool too!

I'm already a little weary of the prison setting. I was hoping that the gang could move on to another location (or take over Woodbury), but now it looks as if they may be there for a while.

One thing we know is that something, somehow, some way, has to eventually compromise the Glenn-Maggie lovefest. They can't be too 'together' for too long without one of them being endangered (or dead).

Also, the Governor knows about Morgan. He has to know about him, since he knew about all the weapons Rick brought back (from Morgan's compound). This could be something that comes into play next season. Maybe the Governor will somehow use Morgan to lure Rick somewhere. Or maybe the Governor will just kill Morgan. I think that Morgan will somehow figure in to things in season 4.

Another thing that dawned on me - was anyone else surprised that the Governor let Tyreese and Sasha off the hook so easily when they announced they were staying behind and not going to go with him to kill people? I couldn't believe that he let them walk away so easily (though maybe he had planned to kill them later and never got the chance).

I really hope they don't break apart Glenn and Maggie. They're the only coouple left and are a ray of hope in the post zombie apocolypse world.
As for Tyreese and Sasha not going with the Governor, I'm positive that the Governor would've killed them when he got back. There's no way he would've let that one slide.

I think they will do a time jump through the winter again. Did you see that in the last couple of episodes, they were back to wearing their warmer clothes, like it was starting to get colder?

I also wonder if the Governor will not appear for the first few episodes of the season, leading them into a false sense of security, only to show up with a new army later on-- a group of people who have been on the run from walkers all this time and would value the safe walls that the prison can provide.

Totally agree here too. Maggie and Glenn have already had one major hurdle, and I don't see why they can't be in love, and living in the zombie apocolypse? It really puts more on the line for them, making everything a bit more dangerous. (although I got REALLY nervous when Glenn took off his helmet after the gov and his gang drove off).

I also am very sure the Gov would have killed Tyrese and Sasha, as he had every intention of coming back and finishing his other business.
