Here is some info posted by our helpful CM (Teena) over on the BC/YC FAQ thread.....

Starting 1/1/11, there are three categories of regular rooms at the BC and the YC (not suites or club level) instead of two (like present).

First is standard view. This will be a view of a parking lot, roof, anything "yucky".
Second is garden view. This will be a view of a garden or courtyard.
Third is water view. This is a view of a pool or the lake.

At present, we only have two views: standard/garden (you could get a yucky view like a parking lot or roof or a decent view like a courtyard or garden - luck of the draw basically) and water view (lake or pool). We are all very happy there is going to be three categories starting 1/1/11 !!!!!!!!!

The difference in price per night between the standard and garden view rooms will be minimal (around $10).

.......as you can see, according to this info, if you have booked a Standard View room, you WILL get a yucky view, this new categorizing is going to eliminate the uncertainty of where your room is....we will all get what we pay for For me, I thought it was very much worth the small extra payment to guarantee a decent view by booking GV for our Club level stay in February. If view is important to you, I'd suggest paying the small fee difference and upgrade to GV CL room instead of SV if possible. Hope this helps you with your room decision!
I can't wait to get to BC and experience this resort

ETA: I just re-read that info, and it looks like she states this is for the non-CL rooms????? now I am as confused as you! YIKES, hopefully someone who knows for sure will come along to clarify, as now I am unsure if those in Club Level may just have a chance at a better view regardless of category booked?? hmmmmm, interesting, sorry I thought I had a definitive awnser and now looks like I'm stumped too!? Regardless, I hope you have an amazing visit!

Thanks for the feedback on rating v. availability. I know alot of my angst is centered in the idea that seemingly nothing could top our last stay at the YC, and being concerned that the trip will fall short of expectations...or put another way, fear of the unknown coupled with a "known happy"! Of course, we had to branch out from the Poly, which we were happy with on our 1st stay to get to the YC, and now would never go back... Now to figure out my next worry - ya'll are too efficient!

Here is a dumb question....how do they know that you are on a particular bus to greet you for CL at the hotel?

They scan a barcode on your transportation voucher when you use DME, and the info is transmitted to the hotels.

The bus greet is hit and miss, depending on how busy they are at the hotel. I have only been met at the bus twice, both times at BWI. Never at AKL or Poly.

Depends on which IPO you are dealing with. Sometimes it is almost immediately after you make a reservation, sometimes not. Usually, though, it is well before the ADR windows open up for your reservation.

If you get anxious, just email your IPO. Best to put your name, reservation number, and arrival date up in the subject header. You can always email them and "introduce" yourself, letting them know you are staying there. A couple of times this has been vital for me, as somehow the IPO forgot about me, or did not have the correct email address.

Thanks for the info - that explains it then, I don't get the voucher as I'm from the UK, they just key in the info when I get to ME check-in, and I've therefore not been met

If this latest trip is any indication, never, seriously, if you have booked and haven't heard from them you should send an email with a generic "we are looking forward to staying with you" including your ressie # and dates. You'll likely get back a generic "we look forward to having you" note and blank request sheet to fill out and send back.

OK. I will make sure to point out that we are CL on BWI when we check in. We were originally at YC and switched after we got the tags.

Are you taking a lime green Mickey head with you? Maybe I will spot you in the lounge!!

If they don't greet you at the bus, make sure to identify yourself as Club Level guests to a Bellman or another Boardwalk person, so they can help you--they may need to call a Concierge person down to escort you up.

Well that was a much better description of the excursion than I read on-line on the WDW site. Thank you! $45 sounds like a deal to me. I think we will all enjoy it.

I really appreciate the feedback!

I don't have any lime green Mickey Heads to identify us.

I will be sure to identify us if we are not greeted. We have a Garden Suite. Can't wait.
