Day 1

The next morning came so fast! I couldn't sleep...I was freezing in our room (Todd turned the AC up soooo high!), we were all in one room and I was excited!!! We were in DISNEY!!!!!!!! I woke up about 6:30 to use the bathroom, grabbed my phone and noticed a text from Tracey, they were boarding their plane and she said she couldn't wait to see me! There was NO way I was sleeping anymore now!!! I still wanted to pinch myself, this trip that we had dreamed up 9 months prior on New Years eve was finally happening! So much needed to line up for our family and theirs for this to happen and here we were, at PORS, waiting for our BFFs and our neices and nephew to join us! And we got play all week long with our kids....I was dreaming!!

I would say about 7ish all the boys started to stir, I will admit that I *may* have had something to do with that...I started to unpack and get organized some for the week.

Today was a down day, we had decided right away that we'd just spend the day getting organized, and figure out our resort, take a swim at the pool and just chill. That's exactly what we did.

Once the boys were up and moving, we all got dressed in our swimsuits, figuring we'd shower later since we had dinner ressies for the HDDR later this day. We headed over to our foodcourt to use our 1st snack credits of the trip for breakfast and see what it was all about.

The boys all decided on the chocolate, chocolate chip muffins (something they'd never be allowed to eat at home! but we were in Disney!) and Todd & I splurged and were trying the Cinnamon buns (diet, what diet?!). They were delish!!

Here is some food porn for you!

Once finished, we decided we had some time, so why not check out the pool? We headed back to our room (which was MUCH easier to find during the day than night!) to grab some sunscreen and towels. But in no time, we were back out and headed to the pool closest to our room, the quiet pool (not so much once we made our appearance, lol!) and went for a dip.

my little fish aka boys, love this pic!

Ethan and Cole

Ahhhh, palm trees!!

About 10 or so I got a text from Tracey saying they were on ME and almost to us!!!!!! I couldn't believe it, they landed early and were almost here! We quickly dried off and headed to the lobby to greet them! By the time we got there, they were already in line waiting to check in! It sometimes takes us awhile to get anywhere quick with 7,5 and 3 year old boys!

I was almost in tears by the time we said hello!!! We were finally all together!!!!!!

Hi Allyson!!

They did great, considering they were up and at school early and everything, I think they were running on adrenaline, too! Jetblue was the best! Definately will do that again!!

So glad you're here!!

Hi Tracy!
LOL too funny about the floating Todd head! I didn't even think about that until you said something!!! Love that one of Coley...so cute!!!

People always think we're out of our minds to have three...just wait until they find out we actually want another one!
I am absolutely amazed at the picture of your three sitting and watching the Disney movie when you were checking in. I think I have two pictures of all my kids together! And yours are well-behaved and it's late at night--so impressive!
Oh! I will need to go and check it out! Love September trips!! You are a brave girl, thinking of going for 4? Truth be told, if my pregnancies weren't so tough and if it wasn't for the fact I know I'd have twin boys, I might think about it, too!!

The boys did great, I think they were so tired by the time they sat down to watch the t.v. in the lobby! They were good boys, it was a long day for them.

But that Mickey welcoming you.... I sure hope your room is easier to find in the DAYLIGHT though!

(also glad you were able to carve out some DIS time! I hope things fall into a routine for you again!)
I know, I was pretty surprised, too, that no one offered to help us, and if I was in a different state of mind, I would have asked, I just wasn't thinking, you know? Oh well....but it did make me cranky! lol

I'm trying SO hard to fit some DIS in my life, I miss it and everyone here, no guarantees I'll get to update as much as I am now, but I will do my best! It's so fun to relive it with everyone! Now I just have to catch up on my subs, too! Like yours!! Sorry!!

Love POR! It's so pretty. It's tough finding something to work for a family of 5, where do you guys stay now that you're 6?

POR. It really stinks that no one offered to help you to your room. I'm sure it was no fun trying to find your room in the dark with 3 tired kids.

The AB looks so nice. We were in the mansions section and although the outside is pretty I wasn't fond of the interior. It reminded me of my grandma's house.

It must be great to go to sleep and wake up in Disney!
I couldn't believe how empty the airport was! It was nice, especially with the boys! Less to worry about crowd wise, you know? It's the 1st time we've done the night trip, it wasn't as bad as I would have thought, although waiting all day long to go was tough for me!!

I've never seen the rooms in the mansion section, I had to laugh when you said about looking like your Grandma's house!!! Todd and I honeymooned on this side, too, so it was nice to be back.

It was SO nice to go to sleep and wake up in Disney!!

I LOVE the picture of Cole with Todd and the suitcases. . .super cute. It isn't funny how you think your favorite pictures will be your family with a character or in front of a park icon, or something cliche like that- then, once you get back, you see your favorite picture is something on the mundane side!!!! I LOVE that!

Can't wait to read more.
We're moving, Kristin, no guarantees I'll keep at this pace, but I'll try!!

It's so true, sometimes the less posed, less planned pics are the cutest! There are quite a few of those on this trip!

Thanks for reading!

Cole hitching a ride on the suitcase is sweet. Don't you wish you could have done that?

Can't wait for pics of POR...I haven't seen too many pics of that resort.

Great update!!!
It was late, Tiff, I waved to you on Rt. 3 that day though! I know, was kinda of bothered by that there was no offer to help, our 1st day I wasn't feeling the magic, but it got better!

Yes, Cole had the right idea!!

Aww, you're so sweet, thank you!! They take after their Daddy!!

I so need to get to your PTR, sorry about that, I have good intentions, time has been flying by lately!

Hi Becky!
SO glad you're here and back on DIS! So funny that Ally though the boys were triplets! So many people ask if Ethan and Lucas are twins (when they are sitting down, since there is like a foot difference in height!), I don't see it, but so many do!

What a great way to start off your trip. I don't know if I could spend the first morning in the pool knowing I was so close to the parks. I am going to really try to leave more time to hang out at our resort next trip. Maybe the 2nd morning.

I can't wait to hear what you have to say about HDDR. I really want to try it next time, but it seems like such a hassle to get over to FW. Also wondering how the boys liked it.

Love the pictures of the boys at the pool, Kristen! I agree with a PP who said they weren't sure they could spend the time at the pool knowing they were sto close to the parks! I feel the same. In fact, I never could convince myself to relax at the pool during my trip!

Great update!

Sounds like a first day I could never pull off--I'd never have the self-restraint to stay at the resort! Looks like yall started off great (huge cinnamon roll...YUM!) and I can't wait to hear about HDDR. We've never been and I have wondered whether or not my kids are ready for it yet. And I know exactly what you mean about never getting three kids anywhere quickly!

Trust me, it wasn't easy not running right to MK! I've NEVER done that before! But with Tracey and Adam coming so early, by the time we had lunch and needed to head to HDDR, there wasn't much time. It was actually kind of nice to be leisurely and relax some since we were up so late the night before, we thought if we push the kids, we'd pay all week long, you know?

Hoping to do a HDDR update soon! Stay tuned!!

Aww, thanks Kristin, they came out cute, didn't they? I'm a bit biased though!!

I know, it was SO HARD for me not to jump on the monorail and at least see the castle, but we did well!! It was a different way to start our vacation and i'm glad we did it that way.

Glad you're enjoying my updates!! They are so much fun to share with you all!!

You guys are cracking me up! You all feel exactly how I did, too! If it was just the 5 of us, trust me, we would have been on the parks! But with meeting Tracey and family, there is no way we could have done it. It was actually pretty nice to be low key that 1st morning, as we were all really tired.

That cinnamon bun was to DIE for! delish! Needless to say, my last one of the trip or I never would have been able to zip my shorts the rest of the week!!

Hope to update about HDDR later today! Hope you'll be around!!

Hey there! thanks for joining my trip!!!

So jealous you're going in December! That was the BEST time of year to go!! We went with Tracey and Adam (my trip report is below my siggie, if you're interested) in December of 2008, LOVED going that time of year and we stayed at POP that year, too! We just love POP, we have just outgrown in now that Cole is in a bed.

Are you doing a PTR? You and Shelley are going to have a fab time!! BFF trips are the best!!!

Thanks for reading!!!

Oh my gosh, that picture of Todd pulling Cole on the suitcase is too stinkin' cute!

That is so disappointing that they didn't offer to call bell services to help you to your room, especially since it was dark and the room would be harder to find.

I know it was hard to hang at the resort that morning and not run off to a park, but after being up so late the night before, a relaxing day at the resort is probably exactly what the doctor ordered!

I have to agree with Kristen that December is one of the best times to go! I went over Thanksgiving in 2008, and I LOVED all the CHristmas stuff. If my DH wasn't such a stick in the mud, we would have participated in more!! You will enjoy it! - - a little side note: if you have done MNSSHP, don't bother with the Christmas party. It just doesn't even hold a candle to the Halloween one!

I know, love that pic, Michelle, so cute!!! He had the right idea for sure!!

I know, I wasn't feeling the magic that night, maybe it was my mood, but I was surprised, being a mod hotel and given the fact it was 1 a.m. and we had our hands full. I remember when Todd & I honeymooned there, it was POURING when we came in, they offered to give us a ride in their golf cart and zoomed us to our room! Oh well...

It was SO tough staying at the hotel that morning but you're right, just what the dr. ordered and as you well know, if you push the kids that early in the trip, we'd be in trouble the rest of the week!

Thanks for reading!!

So funny Kristin, I disagree about the Christmas party! I think if you are there, you NEED TO GO, that was my favorite thing that week! It was so much more magical! But I have never been to MNSSHP before, so I guess I can't really say.
