What kind of ride is Toy Story Mania?

Is it like the Buzz ride at MK or is it a virtual reality type? Can a 3 1/2 year go on it? DGS loves Toy Story and I just want to be sure this is an okay ride for him, nothing scary.

It is similar to Buzz at MK, but you wear 3-d glasses. My then 2 year old DD loved it. It is a big car that seats 4 people, 2 on each side. You ride along the track and stop at various screens to hit targets. My DD just liked pulling the red ball on a string and could care less about the actual targets.

It's extremely tame...there's nothing to worry about. It's not dark or scary at all.

It's just like Buzz as far as the target shooting goes, but you also wear glasses. It does whip you around a little bit each time it brings you to the next scene or turns a corner.

It's fantastic!!! We rode it 3 times (had to get fastpasses at 9:15 for 3:30 in the afternoon though!!) and loved every minute. I didn't have a clue what it was before we rode it but loved it. We're a pair of 40 somethings with no children, but there were lopads of small children on it loving every minute. Make sure you go straight in in the morning to get fastpasses, or you could find yourselves facing a 60-90 minute wait!!!!

I don't know about a 3 year old, but I can tell you that for my 4 and 6 yo (at the time of our trip) it was their very favorite ride! It's the one that keeps coming up when we talk about going back.

It's moderately dark, but since there is so much to look at, neither of my kids worried about the dark in the least. It was fun, fun, FUN for all of us!

If you've ridden Buzz or MIB, you have a general idea of how it goes. You ride around and shoot at stuff.

Nothing scary. Very tame. Characters on screens included, of course - all new stuff from Disney these days involves characters on screens.
