Seat selection on Virgin
After just got back from picking up our V Australia tickets from the TA - because we purchased a 'Sale Fare', through the travel expo there is no option for seat selection.
I did not realise this when purchasing the tickets - i may have reconsidered the Qantas fare with the additional $20 per person for seat selection had I known. Has anyone been able to get their preferred seats on a sale fare? So FF points or Virgin Lounge membership help in any way?

What you got your tickets already !!!![]() I booked at Flight Centre Travel Expo and travelling Sept 6 - They won't give me my tickets until 2 weeks out of travelling.![]() I rang V Australia directly and requested seats - they would not allocate them to me but would do their best to help... My daughters have disabilities and that didn't help either - but they may get to board before anyone else.

thats all we do
we get to the airport way early, like silly early and as soon as the counter opens for our flight we drop the suitcases off and check in, not so much because we have some uncontrolable paranoia to get the best seats but more because we want to stop dragging the suitcases around once checked in we then take the extra time to enjoy the airport, have something to eat, we dont go to airports very often so we like to enjoy it whilst we can 14hr flight to LA if i end up seated by myself and not with my 2 fidgety kids and the wife whom just loves to argue with my son who just loves to argue back (they dont argue with me because i just hit them and then they stop ) dont get me wrong, the wife loves my son and my son loves his mum, they just also love to argue with each other ![]() so if i sit by myself and am spared the 14hr headache im good with that

The only fare bucket you can't preselect seat is the economy v promo.... unless you have silver or gold status with Velocity, then you can

Well that's odd, we booked our tickets with Flight Centre on a sale and the TA booked the seats - they are confirmed and on my itinerary. Not the ones from perth to Melbourne (which I assume I can do myself) but the long haul ones.
Now getting seats for internal flights is another matter! |

We booked our VAustralia premium economy fares with the travel agent and booked our seats on the spot (2 lots of 2). Then 3 days later after we had thought about it we called her and changed them again (1 row of 4)....no problem.

I rang V Australia today, and she advised there is no seat selection available on the special sale fares. I have requested a window seat for DD, and checked we will get sat next to her. Not much else I can do now - though I may have booked QANTA and paid the seat selection if I had known in advance.
