I know I am stirring the pot here, but it seems Sandra is having room temperature issues. Just wanted to point that out.

Checking in late and then I'm off to bed. Our town has Apple Festival this weekend. It actually started Thursday. Anyhow, we went downtown last evening and then I've been there most of today. So much fun! Lots of entertainment and lots of food.

Acrodunk was there. There were semi-finalists on America's Got Talent. Really good!!

DS & I watched a band for a little while but then we realized we were tired and came home. Anyhow, they bill themselves as an oldies band. It was 50's & 60's music. I should have asked if they wanted to join our group.

Going back again tomorrow. I don't think my system can take much more of the food though. I'm probably going to need some of those prunes and maybe some Tums.

Nite Belle! Oooh, I love the smell of fresh apples! I miss those kinds of change in seasons stuff. We don't get that in the city.

If you can find your teeth, have an apple for me. Or bring me some apple sauce - not chunky.

Senior Veteran Member here..

Did I miss the Canasta game?

Did anyone go to the open-air theater this weekend?

Where can I buy one of those basket thingees that you hook on the front of your walker? I want to get mine now - before I forget..

Sulfur and molasses, anyone?

C. Ann! One our revered Senior Veteran members!

Finally a place for you to talk about all the old fashioned, Amish stuff and not have people say, "What's wrong with using all the newfangled gadgets that are out?"

We actually need a tournament director for the canasta games!

Well thank you for the welcome..

If I didn't have this "newfangled gadget", I suppose I wouldn't be having this conversation with you now, but I could write you a nice long letter - in cursive - and send it through the mail - "Amish" or not..

Due to the fact that I am about to attend my second AARP convention (held this year in Orlando) I would think that I qualify as the Chairman of the Board of the Old Foggies Club.

Do I hear an "Amen"!

Hahaha...we did NOT like the fact that your obsession with the Amish was pointed out.

I'm home. I think it's allergies because I felt better in the afternoon and then bad again this morning. Anyway, I spent the night with my father in law (our family takes turn spending the night when he is by himself) and there is NO internet connection out there. I took my laptop in hopes of picking up on someone elses connection, but nothing.

I really do feel like an old fogie this morning. He gets up at 5am and I have to be up too to get his meds, coffee and cereal for him. So now feels like afternoon for me (it's around 10am) and I need a nap! I'm all tuckered out. Now I have to go check out what "room temperature issues" gawrsh is talking about.

If it makes you feel any better, I woke up at 1:30, 2:36, 4:30, and them again at 7. (You were right about the GasX, BTW.)

When I woke up at 7 I woke up DH and said, "Are you working today?!? Because it's 7:00!!!" That's when he looked at the clock, rolled over, and said, "IT'S SUNDAY!" Oops.

The Dis is creeping along like one of us. I was trying to reply to your post above where you edited it to add "Right here at the top. That wasn't too obvious, was it?" or something like that. I busted out laughing at that

It was creeping along for me, too. It seems to be better now, though.

The apples smell so good right now! I'll have to bring some appplesauce on our outing instead of eating an apple for you. I may have digestion issues.

I always thought Early Bird Specials were because Oldies went to bed early but maybe it's really because of digestion issues?

I didn't sleep good either last night. My problem was nightmares. It must have been that huge Elephant Ear I had at 9:30 last night. It was dusted in powdered sugar and drizzled in dark chocolate. I washed it down with a soda.
