So before going into the update, I also wanted to share our top good and bad moments of each day. So since we are already into Day 2, I'll go ahead and post Day 1 for you before I continue:

Before I begin, I should let you know that this day did not go as planned at all and we did have quite a few bumps in the road. However, things improve throughout the week making me consider taking things a bit more slowly our first few days and perhaps taking a longer trip next time.

When I last left you, we had just decided to go back to POP for a break from the heat and crowds. We arrived back at POP around 4pm with a plan to go swimming. However, those plans changed due to the much needed afternoon rain. So we decided to go back to the room and relax for a bit, maybe get in a nice needed nap. However, we were much too excited for that and just ended up watching some tv. After a little while, we all decided we were getting hungry and decided to eat at POP instead of grabbing QS at the MK. So we made our way to POP to grab our food. This time I let the girls go to the various food stations and pick out what they wanted. Haylee had been holding my mug since she wanted to grab some coffee for the extra boost since our plans were to go to MK for the EMHs. So we all headed in separate directions for our food. I got one of the famous tv dinners with fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. I grabbed a Mickey Ear Rice Crispy Treat for dessert. It is the one on a popsicle stick with chocolate covering the ears. DFi got Shrimp Lo Mein since Haylee's had looked so good the day before and Alleyah decided on Chicken Parmesan. So we all have our food and go to find Haylee who is nowhere to be found. She knows she has to go to the cashier with us to get our food. Yet, we don't see her anywhere. Of course DFi and I both start freaking out. Then I remember she has my mug and she had wanted coffee so I leave my food with DFi and Alleyah, and go check the fountain drink area and there she is holding her tray of food and filling her coffee cup. I make my way over to her and point out she isn't supposed to go past the cashier without paying for her food so she quickly comes over and we pay for all the food with out KTTW cards. Then we go over to the table while DFi grabs some napkins. The girls get seated and are getting situated. Haylee had not yet put the lid onto the mug filled with hot coffee, that is until DFi arrives at the table. This is when our first meltdown begins. Haylee is a very clumsy child and has knocked over many a drink in her day. Though I can't blame her since I was the very same at her age and fortunately, mostly grew out of it. So as DFi walks up, Haylee knocks over the coffee which lands all over the front of his shirt and shorts. Now he is already frustrated with her for going to get the coffee without letting us know and taking her unpaid food with her. So he is thoroughly annoyed at this point and decides it is best for him to take his food back to the room to eat so that he can also change into dry clothes. So the girls and I eat at the POP foodcourt and join him in the room after. This is also why I don't have pictures of this meal. So after a little time on his own, he calms down a bit and we all get ready to go back to MK. According to the time stamp on my pictures, we arrived back at MK at around 6:50pm.







I grabbed the above photos because it is one of the few times the girls have allowed the rest of the world to view their loving twin relationship. They are going through the preteen years and not so loving towards each other at times.




I forgot to mention that the reason Haylee has that flower in her hair, is before we returned to MK, I again went to the front desk at POP to try and locate the POP Pay It Forward Box. I had checked baggage claim several times before this with no luck and their suggestion was to check with the front desk. Turns out that due to unforeseen circumstances the box was lost long before I arrived. So the CM who was helping us was also named Haylee (same spelling) and she was from Australia. When Haylee noticed the CM's nametag, she smiles from ear to ear. I told the CM that Haylee was smiling because she had the exact same name and it is rare for my Haylee to see other people with her name spelled that way. The CM said it was rare for her, too, and gave Haylee and celebrating pin that was blank that she filled in with "Haylee". The CM told her they were celebrating their name, Haylee. Haylee was very happy about this. She kept the pin with her everyday of the trip and even pinned to a curtain here at home. So while the CM went to check in the back for box. Another CM came up and asked if we needed help and we told him the other CM was already helping us. He asked Haylee to pick on the other CM regarding her accent and Haylee refused. So the guy CM gave her the flower for being so sweet.

On our way into the MK, another family was leaving and was nice enough to give us their 4 fastpasses for Space Mountain starting at 9:30pm. At this point we were not aware that we could go after that time period so we felt a little rushed. This would be our only night to see Wishes and we were really looking forward to it. At least some of us were. Haylee is not a big firework fan and usually hides behind us to avoid seeing them.

We make our way down Main Street and try to decide which attraction we have time to fit in before finding spots to view Wishes.

At this point we decided to wander around and check out the wait times to see what we could fit in. We had really wanted to see the HOP and there was no wait time so that's what we did.


Everyone really enjoyed and were surprised at how life-like they looked. Though Obama's clothes seemed kind of baggy to me.

I apologize for the lack of updates or me being on the boards at all. Starting my new job consumed a lot of my time and then it was time for the holidays which also took up a lot of my time. Things are slowing down a bit as we head into the new year so I will be finishing up this TR and starting a new PTR very soon. I hope all of you had very wonderful holidays with your family and friends and a terrific new year! I can't wait to share more with you and to read more of your TRs and PTRs, too! Hope everyone is doing great!

I can't wait to read the rest of your TR..and a new PTR??? when are you going again? I might be starting one myself...but it would be a super long term one since I am looking at going for Christmas next year. (2011) Not sure what would be harder...the excitement from doing a year long PTR...or containing my excitement for a year without one.

Thanks for understanding. Yes, there will be a new PTR, just not sure for which month. We were hoping to go back in August but it depends on the free dining situation. We were not able to book before the Dec 20th expiration date and are hoping they will release it again or that we will get a pin. DFi gets a lot of pin codes compared to mine. I guess because to them he has never booked a trip there. Our other option is to go December 2011 like you mentioned. We've discussed it and are warming up to the idea. It also depends on free dining and pin codes. Regardless we have decided we will go back in 2011 since we had such a great time on our previous trip.

Now this was something we were really looking forward to. Well at least most of us. Haylee has never been a fan of fireworks and is completely afraid of them. She usually shudders, covers her ears and hides behind me or her Dad. However, she was willing to be tolerant because we were at Disney so she decided to make an exception. And she definitely was better at it and only covered her ears and shuddered a little. However, beforehand there was a debate as to whether or not going to Wishes would give us enough time to get to our 9:30pm fastpass time for Space Mountain. And ofcourse Haylee was the one who started this debate due to her fear of fireworks and really wanting to ride SM. Then Alleyah starts in on this because she does not want to ride SM and is more interested in the fireworks. This was all before we realized we did not have to be at the ride at our exact FP time. However, we were able to make both. But more about SM later. For now, enjoy the multitude of Wishes pics that DFi took.
