We've been visiting FL since 1991 and only bought into DVC a few years ago. Wish we had done it sooner.

Hi Callum I agree I wish i bought when I was first introduced to DVC, but was a bit wary and sceptical. Which resort do you own at.

For years we had noticed the DVC booths dotted around the parks but just never thought about asking. Don't know what changed our mind but we eventually took the plunge and haven't looked back.

Our points are in AKV but we have yet to stay there! Our last visits have been to SSR (twice), Vero Beach and OKW. AKV just wasn't available for our stays but we weren't too bothered.

That said, we are getting a bit panicky (is that really a word?) about this year as we haven't been able to make any bookings. We have last year's points to use and must bank all or some of this year's by 31/10. Trouble is we are selling our business (which includes our house) and it is taking for ever! As soon as we have a date for moving we'll get onto DVC and see what we can get. Anything, Anything!!

Then flights out of GLA or EDI......now that's another question.

We were the same for years didnt take the plunge but did take the tour twice, only wish we took the offer then would have saved a fortune

Skelfbsfb - Thanks for the suggestion

Called into Thomas Cook in Lanark this afternoon. Their flights from Glasgow are only from May to October. Pretty hopeful that we will be able to make our DVC booking before 31/10 but would imagine that we're now looking at a January or February reservation.

Looks like Continental via Newark is our best bet as we would rather not go via Manchester or London........purely an age thing!!

Welcome home neighbour - we also own at BWV (and SSR!)

Welcome Home to BWV. Our main contract is there too. Such a lovely place. There's no way we could afford to stay there if we paid cash even through an agency/broker. We are going to stay there for 2 weeks in October 2011 and the cheapest cash deal I could find for a studio for two weeks, which included free dining, was £4,700! No way!

So we have the luxury we want at a price we can afford.

What a feeling been told we will be on DVC system in the next few days, then we will need to phone and get our membership number and then start the planning.
