Possible New Resorts!
I just received an email from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Research asking me to take a survey. First they asked questions about my recent stay in May.
Then they asked for my opinion and feedback on three new themed resorts which they said would be moderate resorts - a Haunted Mansion themed resort, a Pirates of the Caribbean resort, and a Princess/Royal Themed resort. I was given a brief description and asked about my initial reaction to each of the themes and then they showed me pictures (computer drawn) of how each of the rooms would look in each of the resorts along with a more detailed description. I was then again asked on how these resorts would appeal to me, etc. Love the Haunted Mansion theme by the way. So it seems that Disney is at looking to add additional resorts at some point and is in the market research phase. Exciting stuff! |

I took the survey too. However, I would not be interested in any of those themes if I had to pay $30 a night more. Its ok if they plan on building a new moderate but decor is NOT worth an extra fee to me!

I would LOVE a Haunted Mansion themed resort! I'd actually stay moderate instead of deluxe just to try it.

My son would just about DIE for a Haunted Mansion-themed resort!

I would totally stay in a Haunted Mansion resort !! However, if there's a Princess themed resort, I'm afraid that my DD4 would want that....yeeesh. I'd have to withhold that info I think ! My DH would CRINGE staying in a Princess themed resort.....
can you imagine ? it would be like someone threw up Pepto-Bismol all over the place....all pink / purple.....oh boy.

I totally missed the additional charge notification in the survey. The only price I recall seeing was that it would be $149 per night but I must say I was more interested in the theming/decor elements of the survey than I was in paying attention to the price.

Ancestry, its interesting how slightly different our surveys were. Mine stated $30 more per night. I guess yours said $149 per night?

While reading the options I was thinking that all options would easily fit into the refirb at POR/POFQ...
And I think they would be like the pirate rooms at CBR where it is an up charge. Hopefully they will make sure that a real mattress (and not just a topper) will fit in the theme bed frame! I will never book the pirate room to sleep on a box spring with no real mattress, after a day at the parks I need a comfy bed.

I think the Haunted Mansion sounds interesting, but it would be even better if they made the Hollywood Tower Hotel instead. I would stay there! (But maybe I would use the stairs instead of the elevator).
