Alternative? Um, Disneyland? I don't know if it's as good because I haven't been there in 15 YEARS!! But I clearly did have fun there!

There are three ways t raise the price of coffee (or anything else) without changing the size of the container,

1. Raise the price only.

2. Keep the price the same but reduce the amount of product.

3. Reduce the amount of product and raise the price.

Which one is Disney's choice.

That is what I am talking about!
There are plenty of alternatives outside Disney(considering cruise myself) and there is simply alternative how to do Disney and not to give Disney more then we absolutely have to, money for tickets.

Has anyone tried "Shula's steak house" it's at the Swan resort and they offer a coupon at restaurant dot com. The food there is really good at a decent price.

We have also tried Sweet Tomato's restaurant which is off site. It's $9.99 for dinner and it mostly a veggatarian buffet. You can't beat it!

Veggatarian buffet, that is interesting. I always have problems finding fruit and vegetables on vacation. What do they offer?

Hi!

Well you walk in and there is a HUGE SALAD Bar (any veggie you want) they also have whole fruits, a baked potato bar also. They offer various homemade soups and bread AND frozen yogurts for dessert! It's really good! You should try it.

Universal is our alternative and one we enjoy very much. There are also the other Disney parks and then completely different types of vacations. There are no lack of alternatives.

To manning above, I would say number 3.

Sounds good! How far this place from parks? I am thinking of renting a car next time in Orlando.

Agree, Universal just as good as Disney and cheaper. We actually wanted to do Universal only last trip but changed to Disney only because DD could only spend few days on vacation because of job and wanted to do TOT.
I also have Atlantis on my list, so far I heard only good things but this one is not cheap.

At the marathon today, they brought in four local food trucks to service the finish line area.

That's just embarrassing, but I'm sure some would say that's going up hill.

It's on Hwy 192. I would say it's about 10-15 minutes from the park entrance. I think a rental car is well worth the extra money too! That way you don't have to depend on the busses.

There is also a Sweet Tomatoes on SR535 which is the road off of Hotel Plaza Blvd, so it's minutes from Downtown Disney, right in front of Crossroads Shopping Center (Goodings).

We have never eaten here, as we don't really eat off-site, but we always pass it as we are doing our grocery shopping for our DVC villa.

Hope this helps, Tiger

Atlantis was one of the nicest places I have been to. We stayed in the Royal Towers facing the ocean. The room was awesome as was the hotel and the entire resort. However with all that said, it was the most expensive place I have ever been too. The average price for a dinner for two was over $100. Paying $60 for a steak, another $7 for a potatoe, $10 for a salad, $8 for bottled water, and etc, etc, etc. A four day stay at this resort cost more than a week at WDW with deluxe accomidations and the DDP. For that matter, it cost more than a 7 day cruise. It was one of those things I'm glad I did, but I will never pay that kind of money again to go there. Then again, I don't drink, I don't gamble, and after a day on the beach I want to run around. I should also add, they know how to get you to spend your money. They close all the outside water attractions around 6:00 pm forcing you into their comedy clubs, casino, and expensive restaurants... Not much choice but to spend, spend, spend...
