Can you buy alcohol on Sunday on the way to the port?

Hello,
I was wondering what people do to buy alcohol on the 4 day cruise that leaves on Sunday? Are the liquor stores open before noon in Florida? We will be taking a town car to the port and wanted to stop along the way around 10:00 AM, will this be possible. Thank you for any help.

We ran into this issue a year or two ago. In Orlando the liquor stores didn't open until noon, but we were able to buy beer and wine at CVS around 9:30 or so. In Cape Canaveral there was a liquor store open when we got there, which was about 10:30 or so.

We stopped at a liquor store right near the port on Sunday morning. It was just a few minutes drive from the port and right next to a large grocery store. I think it was a Publix.

Publix carries beer & wine. No hard alcohol though. It might be an alternative if the liquor store isn't open yet.

Florida does not have laws prohibiting sale on Sunday. Thankfully, or I would be in dire straights!

It depends on where you're buying it. Florida does not have a law resticting alcohol sales, but each county can determine what time or if the stores can sell alcohol. Some counties don't allow any hard liquor sales on Sundays. Some restrict all alcohol sales until after a certain time (ie Tampa can not sell any form of alcohol until after 11:00, used to be 1:00 but they changed it for the Bucs games! )

Actually, it's by county here and if you go to the Tampa Bay area, you will see you can't purchase beer or wine at Publix before 11 AMM on Sundays. Why these laws still exist, though, I can't say.

Probably because they still figure that if you're not in church, you deserve to be punished...
