That is for Wilderness Lodge guests (lucky ones). One family gets selected to help raise the flag on the roof in the morning (and maybe a different family to take it down at night, but I'm not sure about that - it's only morning I've heard of).

You have to ask when you arrive at the resort if there are any openings during your stay there.

I've seen photos from when a friend of mine was able to do it with his family - it looked like a neat experience.

My family was lucky enough to be the flag family during our stay at the Wildreness Lodge two years ago. You need to ask the CM when checking in if there is any days during your stay that are available. We were lucky that the final day of our stay was open. We met in the lobby with a ranger who took us upstairs to the roof. We got to raise the American flag, Florida flag, Wilderness Lodge flag, and two Disney flags high above the hotel. The ranger was awesome and gave us extra time to take pictures of the Disney resort (you can see everything from up there!!) We were given a flag family certificate and when we were finished, he led us to concierege floor where we were able to have a continental breakfast. It is a memory my family and I will never forget - If you have the chance while staying at the Wilderness Lodge, definietly do it!!
