Can I use Disney Reward Dollars to pay for cruise?

We have a WDW trip planned for this year but want to book a Disney Cruise for our next vacation. I'm thinking about using our Disney Visa to pay for everything over the next year and a half in the hopes of earning reward dollars to pay for our cruise.

Is this possible? I've read that you can use the reward dollars for everything on the ship but what about booking the cruise?

Good to read, we are planning on putting ours towards the remainder of the cost for our upcoming cruise.

My very generous parents have also been racking up rewards and have given them to us to use- and I just used about 1/2 of them for the deposit- so you can even use someone else's if they pass them along to you!

I racked up 870 points for our cruise and used them all to book it.!!! That was a great savings.

You can, but if you do this you won't get the $50 per cabin Disney Visa onboard credit. I pay for the cruise with the Disney Visa, but then use the reward dollars for tips and everything else that is on the onboard account.

Sounds like you have too many reward points to make that practical though.

We use our Disney reward dollars as our onboard credit...we have almost $700this past December, and we have over $300 for our upcoming cruise in August. Of course, we use our Disney Visa to pay for everything-bills, groceries, gas, our DCL reservations, to rack up points, and then we pay it off monthly-never carry a balance.
