My Big FAT Disney PDR (aka a Pregnant Woman's Journey to Inhale WDW)

I looked through the pre-trip reports and thought about doing one, but I'm really not much of a planner except when it comes to one thing - FOOD! So I thought I'd invent the Pre-Dining Report (PDR) and see what you all think.

First let me introduce myself. I'm Kari and headed back to WDW in September after almost 10 years away (tragedy I know). My husband will have the great pleasure of accompanying me as we celebrate our 3rd anniversary (he's been to WDW since 00 but that was with his ex-wife and we don't talk about that ). We did go to DisneyLand for two days on our way to Napa to celebrate our honeymoon, but that just isn't the same. Oh, and how could I forget, I'll be 16 weeks pregant when we go so we'll be joined by our little bean in the oven for our disney adventures.

As a bit of history for our dining plan, we are huge foodies (but not snobby ones - I love chicken wings as much as foie gras). My husband is a chef and we both share a passion for food and everything disney. You should know though that we're not table service kind of people (we prefer to eat at bars, share food, and drink (at least I used to enjoy that - ooh how I miss my friend wine ). Given that I don't do ADR's (plus I don't know what I want for dinner tonight, let alone 180 days in advance). Though I know they are a pregnant woman's dream, I also don't do buffets -the mass quantities of food sitting out for hours on end just turns my stomach. Anyway, given all that the dining plan didn't interest us at all. Our plan was to stay at POR using the summer discount and just eat on our own. But when I saw we could stay at POP for $200 less then then POR and get the FREE QSDP to boot - my pregnant stomach was hooked.

So that brings me to my big FAT (aka pregnant) Disney PDR idea. If you all will indulge me a bit I'd like to get your thoughts and suggestions on our dining plans. My thought is we'll take advantage of the QSDP during the day for breakfast and lunch and then hit the higher end restaurants where we can eat at bars on our own dime at night. We leave 6 weeks from today so my PDR plan is to to through the options I've come up with at each park, then resorts/DTD, and ending with dinner plans and the promise to follow-up with a lengthy dining report. Hopefully someone out here will read this and drool as much as I plan to in putting it together.

Magic Kingdom (aka making my stomach the happiest place on earth)

Ok, so I thought I'd start my plan with the mother of them all: the Magic Kingdom. Below are my thoughts on making the most of my QSDP while there (though I'm open to non QSDP options). Again, I am not really a planner and have no idea what days we'll go to what parks - but want to ensure I have a good list on hand so I can eat where my cravings take me.

I've categorized my options by breakfast, lunch, and snack (we'll tackle dinner in another post) and in some instances put specific foods that either jumped out at me or were recommended by others. You'll also notice that I've noted where I can get some healthy options throughout the park. I'd love to spend the week surviving on fried food and ice cream alone, but figure my dr may have an issue if I put all my pregnancy weight on in one week!

Breakfast
Main Street Bakery – Cinnamon Rolls (with extra icing) , Ham Croissant, & Fruit
Sleepy Hollow – Mickey Waffle (I don't think this is on the dining plan)

Lunch
Casey's Corner – Hot Dogs/Corn Dog Nuggets
Columbia Harbor House – Fried Shrimp & Fish, Tuna Sandwich
Cosmic Rays – Rotisserie Chicken & Ribs
Pecos Bill – Burgers & Taco Salad
Pinocchio Village Haus – Mediterranean Salad

Snacks
Aloha Isle – Dole Whip & Fresh Pineapple
Ice Cream Carts – Mickey's Premium Bar
Liberty Square Market – Fruit
Magic Kingdom Confectionery – Fudge & Chocolate Covered Strawberry
Main Street Bakery – Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich & Fruit Salad
Pecos Bill – Chili Cheese Fries
Sleepy Hollow – Funnel Cake

So bring the MK comments on....
