**The Unexpected Engagement - Day 6**
Castmembers
![]() Me - Rachel DF (woohoo!! ) - SimonDad - Dennis Mum - Jennifer DB - Chris Day 1 Link Day 2 Link Day 3 Link Day 4 Link Day 5 Link Tuesday 11th May - Animal Kingdom & International Drive We were awake early again, me, partly due to still not feeling 100% and by this point getting really annoyed as I just wanted whatever it was to go away and annoy someone else and not me ![]() We grabbed some breakfast from the ASSp food court and a much needed cup of tea (even though it's not a patch in tea over here in the UK!) before heading out to the bus, wearing my newly acquired engagement ring and our Disney engagement badges and got in the queue for Animal Kingdom. ![]() ![]() We spent a lot of time at the front of the park admiring the animal enclosures and we even managed to catch a glimpse of the Anteater, who was really shy! We eventually made our way onto the main pathway heading down towards the Tree of Life, which never fails to amaze me as to how beautiful it is. ![]() We walked beyond the tree of life around towards Africa to grab some fastpasses for Kilimanjaro Safari before heading into the Pangani Forest exploration trail to see the Monkeys and fish ![]() We wandered a little further around until we found these little guys... ![]() ![]() They were truly amazing to watch and learn about. The CM who is their keeper informed us that they constantly have one meerkat 'on guard' and the above photo shows 'the changing of the guard', it was like being back home at the palace We continued around the trail and found the gorilla's in their hideout. ![]() After finishing up on the trail, it was time to ride the safari, so we boarded our vehicle and set off on the trail for 'Little Red'. We saw the giraffe's and captured this baby one...before finding the bigger guy coming out from his den to see us all. ![]() ![]() Cont...

We finished our safari and headed over towards Asia where we found some loveable friends to grab some pictures with. We got lots of attention and congratulations from CM's about our engagement and Flik made a massive fuss over it too, I felt rather special ![]() ![]() ![]() We continued around further into Asia and I couldn't believe my eyes when we found DeVine! I've heard so many people on the boards talk about her, but we've never managed to see her before this trip!![]() My Mum, Dad and Brother had never actually been in the Asia area, as in 2008 it was still under construction, so they were pleased to be able to have a good look around and see what had developed. They'd never yet seen Expedition Everest ![]() ![]() ![]() We got fastpasses for EE and also joined the queue, as the wait time was only quoting 20 minutes. Everyone loved it, even my Mum, who's not a massive 'coaster fan at all. ![]() We rode once again before heading around to Dinoland USA and towards Dinosaur. We got in line for Dinosaur, again only a 10 minute wait, and loaded onto our vehicle. We set off for our adventure and as we rounded the very first corner - it broke down! Now, I've never been evacuated off a ride, so here was another first! The CM's came around with the step-ladders and escorted us all in orderly fashion around to pick up the other stranded passengers. I have no photo's, as it wasn't allowed, but I can certainly say, those dinosaurs aren't half as scary with the lights on It was really good to see to be honest and the CM gave us a commentary about the ride on the way around. We were given 5 day fast passes so we could come back and hit the ride again once it was back up and running Once we came out of Dinosaur we decided it was lunch time so we found the Flame Tree BBQ and grabbed ourselves half a chicken each from there. Now, excuse the mess on the table, but I had to share as Simon, Christopher and I just found this hilarious... ![]() Now that's what happens after 6 action packed days in Disney World, even big kids go to sleep sat up ![]() Once we'd woken them up and finished eating, we wandered across to the Kali River Rapids to use our next set of fast passes and decided it was time to get wet! And boy, we didn't do too badly on that part, me and my Mum were totally drenched! On our way out we grabbed a couple of photo's...![]() ![]() We headed back to the resort to get changed and chilled out there for a while before heading over to I-drive for a Burger King tea and a look around. It didn't last long We ordered at BK, but I totally didn't feel well this time and only managed a couple of fries. It was time to give in and admit defeat - I was poorly and needed something to help me feel better! Through tears my Dad drove us to Walgreen's to try and see the chemist and see if there was anything to make me feel better. I felt so guilty because we were back at the resort so early, but I honestly couldn't have carried on, it was terrible. Early to bed for me and the others all hit the arcade and pool bar for a couple of hours...Coming soon...day 7!

It's so cute to see your fiancé change from DBF to DF! Over the past few days I've gotten really excited to go to the Animal Kingdom, and your post today made me happy

Thank-you! You'll love AK, it's a great park. Not too many headlining rides, but the whole theme and feel of the place is fantastic!

at your Mum and Dad. It takes it out of the little one doesn't it ![]() And I know what you mean about the river rapids. We made that our first ride of the day and was still wet when we were leaving the park at closing time - and that was in October

We did dry off partly, all except my shorts - I've vowed next time to wear my boardies so that it'll be quicker to dry
