Now that's strange You might have noticed that myself and some other Commandos who are also members of The Dis Dads Club have been tagged and quoted by the tag fairies

I like mine, it fits well:good vibes

Maybe they will tag all the Commando club members

For me before I can plan anything that we want to do in a day, I got to have the where plan, now without knowing park hours yet, but will be able to move the days easily this is what I need and the the plan of how

- 2 rope drops at AK
- 1 rope drop at HS
- 2 rope drops at MK
- since TT will be closed no need for rope drop at Epcot, will go for the EMH PM hours , since we can do WS

No order of days, got to find out park hours 1st, since we will not be at any park that has AM EMH's

- HS, dinner at Schula's then Epcot
- MK, Teppen Edo, Epcot
- AK, Whispering Canyon, MK
- MK, T-rex, HS
- AK , House of blues or Be our Guest, MK

This is where I'm at right now, it all depends on the EMH's, I'm not concerned about the PM ones since they would work in my favor, but I might have to change some AM parks around, plus I will have to figure the best bets to park, since we will get there early it could be a parking in a lot of a park we are not even going to

From the neophyte here it looks really good Ron. IYHO how many days does a person who's never seen Epcot before need?? I may have to talk DH into adding a day in Orlando, and have one day less in Maryland, as I'd like to have 1 down day to explore the resort and DTD. Since it's so far out, will have to twist his arm closer to booking. So we'll see how that goes. The kids are already saving for the trip by stealing all my change (with exception of the quarters, they're MINE). They should have a good chunk of spending money by the time of the trip. And me rolling change for hours on end closer to the trip LOL!

This is hard to say

IMO this is by far the hardest park to navigate, it is almost like 2 parks in one, the front part has the rides and exhibits, plus some meet & greets

Then you go into the WS and the confusion starts, besides checking out each country, 2 have boat rides, some have movies, most have a meet & greet, plus shows, some have more then one & for a twist the shows are not in order (example Canada at 11:30 then England at 12 would make sense, but nope not happening, it would be more like Moracco at 11:55 impossible to get there in time after the show you are at, plus all the shows do not show in one day, so if you are only there 1 day you will get around the whole park, but will not see everything

I would say if you have park hoppers , 3 split days would cover it, plus it would keep things interesting, I tend to get bored in 1 park all day, you can only pass by the same stuff so many times in a day

Pardon me for my ignorance of the closeness of the parks in relation to each other. Is it easy to catch a bus from one park to another?? I'm going to have to print off a map to get a better idea of how close the parks are to each other. But it does make sense to hop between the parks. I guess I'm too used to DL, where it's less than a mins walk between the parks LOL!

You can probably get park to park within approx 20mins, if you are at Epcot or going to Epcot MK (via monorail with a switch at TTC) & HS ( can take the boat that is in the WS between UK & France) would be the best bets on a split day.

Shandale posted some transportation info she found in post 1417, if you take the bus the info has the stop #

The big difference between DL & WDW is that the WDW property is the size of Manhattan (approx 26sq miles)

Yegads I had no idea that the Orlando WDW complex was so huge. Sounds like a new pair of walking shoes will be needed. I copied the info about the buses down from the poster you mentioned, and found a good set of maps online yesterday that give me a better idea of where everything is in relation to each other. This should give me a better idea for planning the trip. Have a great day everyone!!

After reading a bit of Debbie's Documents, I find I did WDW a great injustice on how large the property is So I will post a few things of general info from her documents

- Size - Covers 47sq miles WD Resort is about the size of San Francisco or 2 Manhattan islands With more than 30,000sq acres, less then 1/4 has been developed, with another quarter designated as a wildlife preserve

- Disney employs more than 54,000 CM's, Disney is the largest single-site employer in the U.S.

-With more than 230 buses transporting guests, Disney is the 3rd largest in Florida, behind Miami & Jacksonville

- You can fit ALL of Disneyland in the MK parking lot and still have room for 500 cars

Any excuse to buy new shoes! But just make sure you break them in and do some "practice" walking before your trip. And I also recommend taking an alternate pair of shoes to change into if your walking shoes cause problems! My so-called comfy shoes caused a blister after spending all day walking around at the WDW parks one year and I didn't bring any other shoes at all! I learned my lesson the hard way!

On another note.....I've never had so little time to plan my trip before! I did what I consider a crash course trip planning but since I'm obsessive, I keep going over and over my options again! I'm gonna take my kids on Characters in Flight for the first time this trip and also go to DisneyQuest for the first time (I can get discounted tickets through work so I figured now was a good time!) and I'm second guessing the days we'll do those things. I gotta quit trying to change everything!

I would wear something already broken in, just to be comfortable

I'm curious to find out what you think of DisneyQuest, but there is no way I would think about CIF, I can't even go up a 6ft ladder without almost freezing up

I tried my tried, true, and broken in Fitflops on the DL trip in Sept/11. I've taken them on every trip since I discovered them 2 yrs ago, and have had no problems with them, or my back when using them. Problem was that we were extreme Commando the entire trip, and at the end of the 3rd day I actually had blisters which was a huge surprise. And since I had packed so light, I didn't pack a second pair of shoes. So I put some bandaids on the blisters, and ignored the pain from them. I'm thinking of picking up a pair of Vibrams Five finger shoes this summer and see how they work out. I noticed people wearing them in the parks, so they must be comfortable. Now that I'm feeling healthier, I'm wanting to get out walking more. I did pick up a couple of books from the library yesterday on WDW so I have some more general info. I'm an extreme over planner, and I have to be, as DH doesn't want to know about the trip until I've confirmed vacation dates with him, and have booked the trip. Afterwards he doesn't stress out about it until the last week leading up to the trip. At that point I'm so organized I'm laughing at him, as everything's 99% done. As for the kids, they don't want to know about it until the day we are leaving, just as we are heading out the door. My DS9 is a major stress magnet, so if I let him know about the trip he would worry about it the entire time leading up to the trip. By surprising them, it takes alot of the stress out of the trip for him. Besides I like plotting against the kids...keeps me young and out of trouble....mostly!

I have no fear of heights! Spiders are an entirely different story...
I'll let you all know about CIF and of course I'll take pictures! I just fond out that my PTO attempts at work were being declined due to a schedule error so I am now also scheduled for time off the week before Christmas!! I've been dying to go to WDW during the Holidays! Woo hoo! Now I've got that trip to plan too!

My sister and a few other friends rave about Fitflops! I was gonna buy a pair of the Mickey firflops on our past trip last May/June but I refused to spend $45 on them But now I may spring for some or atleast buy some that are a bit cheaper before our March trip....
