But yes! My fat belly shall not bother anyone on my flight!

Yes, I'm being an idiot, but I'm starting to crash, which is probably why I'm hoping to have lost enough weight by my June trip to not have to do this again, as even with the lower price, this was almost $500 total. I know some of you lovely ladies were talking about us having a weight loss encouragement thread here on the Dis, which I think would be a lovely idea. If anyone wants to start one, just let the rest of us know where it is, or I can start one at work tonight

And this had me cracking up...the "fat seat"...you're making me really nervous to go on SW in November, you know! I'm just having visions of the flight attendants surrounding me as I board the plane, telling me I'm too fat to sit in their tiny little seats! And I can't afford a second seat! So they better leave me alone!

Please, start a weight loss thread...I'm going on WW this week NO EXCUSES to see how much I can lose in the next 5 weeks so I'll need some help and encouragement!

Calling it "the fat seat" makes me feel better about doing it, since it's basically making fun of the policy I think you'll be fine in November. I'm not even sure about how I'd be, so when I get on the plane, I'll see how I fit in one seat first, then put up the armrest since I paid for two seats Besides, sometimes it depends on the FAs and also on your flight itself, since there's no way of knowing if it's full or not.

I'm thinking about what to call the thread, though... Any suggestions? I'm thinking about using a lyric from this song that keeps getting stuck in my head lately.

Ok, I will fess up my weight, I am 160 at 5 ft 1 in. I can't fit in the seat with the arm rest down comfortably. Unless you are 90 lbs soaking wet, it's impossible. I would never make a scene about someone "of size". Some people just can't control that! I am so tired of people's ignorance about things it's not even funny.

I got on the scale yesterday and it said I was 308.4, and I'm 5'9". It really drives me nuts that even someone your size can't fit in the seat comfortably. My sister's about 140 pounds, I think, and somewhere around 5'8" (we're tall in my family) and she can just barely fit comfortably as well. The only person I know who can sit comfortably in an airplane seat is my four year old niece!

Skinny Gurl! Hey anyone with a 1 at the beginning of their weight, is probably way better off than a lot of us. Firefly, I think you and Fran are in about the same boat, but with her arthritis and hunched back she's not quite so tall any more, she's closer to my height which is about 5'2". But I'm not a 1 in the weight game. I'll be over to sign up for the weight loss challenge!

I'm 5'6" and well...I'm over 200, lets just put it that way. I never thought I'd get to be over 200 pounds, that seems so huge to me. I'd really love to get under 200 by the time I go to Disney, but since that is only 5 weeks away, I don't know if it's possible...we will see, I'm planning on working really hard the next 5 weeks!

Let me know how it goes and how you fit in the seats! I was just on Jet Blue in May, and I was about 6 pounds heavier then (not like it makes a difference in size or anything) and although it was a tight fit, I fit in the seat with the arm rest down with no problem, and I don't need a seat belt extender or anything, so who knows? I'm just praying my flight isn't full...I've never went on a Friday morning so I don't know how full it will be. Hopefully not many people are going to Disney that day!

No you didn't offend at all, as PrincessInOz said, we all have our personal challenges. When I hit the 2's I was appalled, but I've been here now for a while. in 2008 I was about 180 but once I got back from my WDW trip in May my weight ballooned.

Each of us has our own battles, I just wish mine was at 160! But I know if I was 160, I'd want to be 140, so I totally understand.

Before I had kids I was 90, after dealing with my dad's suicide, my mom's death from Leukemia, depression, losing a home & a vehicle, homeless for 2 weeks, my weight has ballooned. For my height, I am over weight.

Being only one inch taller than you, I am overweight as well, just a a lot more. I was 125 from ages 19 to 26, at that point I started to gain weight. By the time I was 30 and going through a divorce I hit 150 (which at this point would be my ideal weight). I'm sorry you had to go through so much, I can't even imagine dealing with everything you have. Perhaps we should move this discussion over to the new weight loss thread and not hijack Dana's TR.
