Mandymouse's Holiday of Firsts ~ Day 6

Castmembers

Paul & Mandy

Travelling & Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
Day 5

Thursday 10th June ~ High - Mid 90'sF

Today was a day at sea, so we had a bit of a lie in and chilled in our room for a while (and I sorted through some of our Fish Extender gifts ~ thank you for the fun gifts everyone), we then had a quick lie out on Deck 10 before our 11am ressie for Palo Brunch

We were really pleased that Kim from Belguim was our server again (though I had emailed DCL beforehand to request her if she was onboard). She is so nice and friendly, and after serving us our first Champagne cocktail she showed us around the various tables of food

There are tables with fruit, seafood, cheeses, meats, breads and of course the wonderful desserts

As we had a reservation for High Tea at Palo at 3pm, we sensibly didn't go too mad and eat too much. We started with a plate of food from the buffet, then we had our egg dish (Eggs Florentine for me and Eggs Julia for Paul). We had another yummy cocktail and then helped ourselves to a few desserts. Once again we had a lovely relaxing meal

After Brunch we headed back to our stateroom and got changed back into our swimwear and went back up to Deck 10 for a sunbathe

I think I lasted about an hour, it was just too hot for me, so I went down to the Cove Cafe and sat outside reading my book (The Lovely Bones)

It wasn't long before we had to head back to our room to get changed for our 3pm High Tea ressie back at Palo (Oh my gosh, more food ). This was our first time at High Tea, and we were really looking forward to it, as it is usually only offered on longer cruises

There was only about another 5 or 6 tables available for High Tea, and 3pm was the only time available too, so we were thrilled that this reservation had become available

Well the High Tea was wonderful. Our server was John from India, and he came over to take our tea order, just good old English Breakfast Tea for us ,

.. next came out the sandwiches

.. then the warm scones, jam and clotted cream

.. then the petit fours

.. and finally the trifle (sorry I had eaten mine before I remembered to take a photo )

It was such a nice, relaxing experience, we loved it, and at $5 each, it was a bargain too

Cont'd ..

Once we had changed back into our shorts etc, we went for a walk. We did a bit of shopping at Mickey's Mates and then we stopped for a cocktail and a couple of games of draughts in Diversions

Tonight was the Toy Story the Musical show, and as we had never seen this before, we thought we go and see it, so we grabbed a cocktail from Preludes and we took our seats

Well the show was just brilliant !!

Tonight was 'Dress Up Night', and as we left the show we bumped into Minnie & Mickey, but the line for Goofy was too long

We went back to our stateroom and got ready for dinner, which tonight was in Parrot Cay

As over the next few night a few of our tablemates (us included) were heading for Palo for dinner, we decided to take photos of our tablemates and servers (Line & Bobba)

We started with a speciality cocktail, and I had Chicken Tenders and Paul had Tuna to start, then we both had the Caribbean Chicken which was delicious

The previous night one of our tablemates had mentioned to our Head Server (Ali) how much he liked apple pie (which wasn't on the menu), and as there wasn't any available, Ali promised that there would be some available the next night

Well tonight our table shared a whole apple pie served with ice-cream, it was so nice. Our servers were brilliant, and were happy to do anything for us, nothing was too much trouble

After another lovely meal, we got changed, then we popped to the Promenade Lounge for a cocktail and to listen to MidTown (the band), and I ran into Princess Tiana

We then went to Wavebands for a 70's disco. We had a great time, and we had a bit of a boogie to Dancing Queen (well you just have to, don't you ?), and after the 70's night they put on the normal disco. I think we managed to last out till 12.45am, and we found this little fella on our bed when we got back to our room

Another great day

Tomorrow ~ Nassau

Really enjoying your report, they keep getting better and better - I love the "loads of photos" report - the Palo brunch and high tea look gorgeous.

You have some beautiful dresses

Going to show DH this one so he can see re Palo etc.

What a lovely day Mandy - I am really looking forward to our 'at sea' days next year. Love your evening dress

Ali was our head server last year and he managed to get cheese sticks for all the kids (and everyone at the next table to ours).

Palo brunch looks so good, I really hope we can get a reservation for our next cruise - not sure I would do the tea though since I don't like tea or trifle

You looked really lovely in your "dress-up" dress Mandy - colour really suits you.

Uh oh Nassau tomorrow, not your favourite stop if I remember rightly....

Loved your evening dress Mandy You looked fantastic!

And you met Tiana, wow! I searched WDW for her and had no luck! She looks fantastic, that dress is amazing!

I do love how relaxing it all sounds and all the little gifts you keep returning to in your cabin!
