Toy Story 3 REVIEWS

Have yet to find one bad review! Sounds like Pixar has made an amazing third installment.

Bottom Line: Woody, Buzz and playmates make a thoroughly engaging, emotionally satisfying return.

Access Hollywood
Verdict: SEE IT!

i saw a private screening of this movie in 3D imax thru a radio promotion i won. i must say, it was a little bit dark towards the end for the little ones, in my opinion.

Sure hope it's a winner. I'm not at all impressed with the trailers.

100% on Rottentomatoes.com, though I know of a few reviewers who will be more then happy to bring it down all for their own ego, this is shaping up to be an awesome adventure.

i have to agree that the conflict parts of the movie are pretty dark and sad. things always end well of course, but it is a bit of an emotional roller coaster to get there. what i really love is when the characters are having fun interacting with each other (like in the credits). i wish the movie was just fun...with less OMG drama every time. all that being said, i think it was a really great movie.

I'm glad to see some of the views above, as I was beginning to think I was alone in feeling that the movie overall was dark and intense for the little ones. Of course there were some cute parts, but both my 7-year old DD and I left the theater feeling horrible and are still trying to get out of the 'funk' that it put us in. Not what I had hoped.

I thought the movie was one of the best I have ever seen! A beautiful story of friendship and loyalty while faced with some not so easy choices. Since I don't have little kids anymore (my son was 2 when the first one came out and my daughter not even born), there was no fright factor for us. Although I can see where parts of it could have been scary for younger kids, but in the end even in the face of adversity sticking together is what matters. I cried a few times and came out feeling that happy that my friends (Buzz, Woody and the Gang) had a great ending that did them justice. I know it sounds a bit corny but I think this movie was a rare gem!!

Just got back from TS3. I took my 16 year old daughter, my 8 yr old DD and her 8yr old friend.

We all loved it. There is the one scene that is a bit intense, but all ends well. I thought it was the best of the TS movies. I would give it 4.5 (out of 5) stars. Better than Alice and better than Princess & Frog. Pixar and John Lassiter just know how to make great movies.

My entire family absolutely loved this movie! It hit a soft spot for me and dh because our ds was 1 when the first TS came out, so this is like "our movie". The growing up and moving on parts were very touching for us. In fact, I think most people will get that connection with it.

I will agree that a couple parts could be a little intense for little ones, and I checked on my 3.5 year old a few times near the end (he was fine, incidentally) to be sure he wasn't scared. My 6 year old, however, loved the whole movie. We all laughed and cried (including my 16 year old ds). Disney-Pixar, I feel, really hit the nail on the head with this one, evoking all the emotions that make Disney what it is for me...magical

We loved it. My daughter is three and a half but is not easily scared by movies (she likes to explain to me that it's just pretend) and wasn't bothered by the more dramatic moments. She did love the movie, though, and asked if we could go back in and see it again when it was done.

Just one thing, though. I don't understand at all why Lotso is the one doing meet and greets at DHS. I asked my daughter if she wanted to meet him when we go on our next vacation and she said, "Well, he was mean. I don't think so." I can only imagine that the poor CMs who are "friends" with Lotso is going to be kicked by a lot of young Buzz and Woody fans now that the movie is out.

(I might be a little biased about the Lotso thing, though, because I was really, really sad to see Carl, Russell, and Dug go from that space.)

I loved it. I was worried about my daughter's reaction to the Lotso character (she bought one at the Disney Store, and never leaves it behind) she came up with a brilliant rationalization that I won't go into here: as not to divulge any spoilers.

I loved Sid in the movie - I found this site last night, and now I can't wait to go back and see it again.

Best threequels out there

I don't know where to start. I've been a huge fan of Toy Story ever since it first came out (I was six years old). I absolutely adored TS3, I especially loved Ken and Barbie!

I can understand some parents concern over the pretty heavy nature of the story. But I have to say, the basic plotline was "Andy goes to college, what will Woody and the gang do?" One also has to know that Pixar primarily based their audience on the children who grew up with the first movie (when it came out). All of them are at least fourteen or fifteen years old now, so children no more! I was also quite prepared emotionally due to Pixar's previous film, UP.

We just got back from TS3 and *looooved* it! I didn't think it was as dark as Toy Story 2 - I'm almost 40 years old and the whole part with Sid's room in TS2 still creeps me out! I didn't have those issues with TS3.

My sister's daughter starts kindegarten this fall, and my sister said both she and her husband were weepy. It's definitely a movie that can make you shed a tear or two. Sweet tears. Not sad tears. Not like Up! (omg ... the beginning of that movie makes me sob).

We saw it in - it was superb.

ETA: The little kid behind me kept asking, "Mommy, why is she laughing?" ahahahhaahaha There were a few parts where we got so tickled it took a while to settle down. Hubby LOVED Chuckles.

And I agree about Lotso - afterwards, we were both wondering why they are marking this cuddly wuddly toy when he's the villain! He doesn't even really repent, but does get his comeuppance.
