I am just love love loving the flower statue photos. They must be even more beautiful in real life.
Sorry to hear you were feeling so unwell. Looks like the boys had fun without you. The Kim Possible stuff looks cool.

Oh, I'm so sorry that you were feeling so bad that you had to return to the resort - rotten cold!
My kids haven't done any of the Kim Possible missions, I see on so many other TRs how much fun they are though. If I can talk the Grump into another trip we may have to give it a try

Your report is absolutely wonderful!!!!, very funny, great sense of humor and loving the photos. Oh those pancakes are still making me hungry. I am really enjoying reading your report
.Sorry that you weren't well on the trip. I did end up in the emergency room on a drip after we arrived at WDW, I'm glad you stayed out of there, it added a very large unexpected expense to the trip. The gardens are just so beautiful, you really went at a lovely time of year. We are going in Sept for the first time, we were there in April/May last time and just loved the gardens. Looking at your photos I hope we don't miss it too much... My son will be so excited about the Bakugan at Japan, he loves it (although they are very expensive for what they are ... or is that just me ) and Pokemon.... Oh I wonder when the love of Pokemon will end. I just showed my DS the photo of your DS infront of the Bakugan display and he said "Oh sick" Weird the sayings they have these days Oh Dear, I'm sounding old. Thanks for sharing Im looking forward to reading more.

Great TR. Loving the photos. The Kim Possible mission and Test Track were the highlight of Epcot for DD.
If we go back to WDW next year, we will probably also stay at POR. Looking forward to reading more and seeing more photos. |

Loving the TR I had a very yummy pastry while I was in France! The CM were a little annoyed I think...I don't speak French but they seemed annoyed about something. But the pastry was just awesome!!!! I almost fell asleep during the France movie though. I don't think a whole day of walking and then watching a 17 minute video is good!

Day 4 – We must have taken a wrong turn in Alberquerque - OMG! We’re off-site!
I got woken up by a very excited DS! He had been invited to go for a swim at DB’s place of residence. As my headache was much better, we all headed off-site for the occasion. And I was curious to check out their digs….
They stayed at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa, along the 535. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the gates of Disney from there. Both DB and his family and my parents got a 2-bedroom, 2-bath place each for roughly the same price of a moderate at WDW. It was really nice to see their SPACE and the kitchen. There was a decent Irish pub downstairs and my extended family said that the food was good and reasonably priced there. The resort included a great pirate themed pool and the kids had fun there with DB. Whilst I wanted to be totally immersed in Disney magic this time round, it was nice to head off-site for a little bit so that we could see what life could have been like if we had made the decision to stay off-site. For me, the best thing about their resort was that it was right next door to the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores. DH and I hadn’t been off-site since our arrival and we were ready to go shopping. So, we hit the shops whilst DB and the kids hit the pool. Sure the extra space would have been great but given the type of holiday we had to date, we wouldn’t have been enjoying the resort as we were at the parks for most of our time. And given that I was sick, I was really glad to have access to Disney transportation so that I could head back and lie down and leave the boys to enjoy additional time at the parks. We were asked to stay for a home-cooked meal; but we had a few QS credits to burn and we opted to go back to POR. ps. Sorry folks - No pictures with this update...they all have extended family in them. [Up next – Dinner at POR]

Day 4 – Pasta at POR (more food porn)
The POR food court is reputed to be one of the better resort foodcourts on the WDW property. Up until now, we had only experienced breakfast and so I was keen to see what the dinner menu looked like.
There was a number of stations where you could make to order salad, make to order pasta, pizza, burgers, a carvery, dessert/cake station, bakery and ice cream bar. We opted for pasta. I ordered a fettucini with shrimp, artichoke and spinach. If you look at the back, you'll be able to spot the cheesy bread and salad that came with this meal. I only got through about 1/2 of this! ![]() DS ordered parmesan cheese with some penne marinara. Where does he put all this food? ![]() DH decided on the pizza…. ![]() …with salad. ![]() DS already had 2 ice creams today, so he was left eating fruit and watching me and DH put away some of this! Vanilla icecream and warm chocolate fudge! ![]() ![]() And yes, before anyone reports me for being a cruel parent; DS did get a taste of the ice cream fudge. By Disney standards, the food was reasonable. For me, the best thing about being on site at a WDW resort is just that – being on site and being totally immersed in Disney Magic. I also found that having access to the Disney Dining Plans was also rather convenient for my family. On paper, the Quick Service Dining Plan suits our dining style the best. We actively sought out Quick Service places that offer decent food, especially for a vegetarian; and by and large most places offered a standard fare of ‘fast food’. And the QSDP does include a lot of food – particularly the sweet stuff – and we certainly didn’t go hungry on the plan. [Up next – Our date with Donald]

Even though I know the WDW pizza is sub-par (I'm from Chicago and used to excellent deep dish, so sue me), that pic and the pics of your pasta are making me so hungry. I love that you post food porn pics, though
I always forget to take pics of the food

It's funny. I now understand the whole staying onsite thing. We had been 3 times before always staying offsite. Then after Mr DVC became a member we did a 5 DVC resorts in 2 weeks trip and it is really really great being onsite.
![]() And while I loathe the buses so always drive place to place, it is a great idea for if one member of the tribe wants to go somewhere specific on their own. We did miss the space of the 2 bed apt we got last time...but it is made up for by being at Disney. As for the food porn....I'll just say gag me now (except for the dessert.) I'm not a cheese encrusted cheese 'American style' person. ![]() But that icecream.....mmmmmm...I love icecream in winter the best ![]() The type of food court though sounds similar to Caribbean Beach which we ADORED!!!! Looking forward to the continuation of the story
