Haha - you don't have to be in a water park to see that. We were having dinner outdoors at Raglan Road the other day... Had quite a view of a butt crack one table over...and he was wearing big shorts.

I had heard these stories but never expected to have one to happen to me. When we were in Disney back on the fifth our group was tired. I drove all nights and my kids were up on and off. I had brought a friend, who is a bit older than me, and he was also tired. We hit the park after rope drop and had a good time. AT lunch we went to Cosmis ray's and got rib baskets (should have known their was a problem) and went on Space Mountain. We had a great time but my friend was real pale, and he is not a very tanned person to begin with, and we made our way back across the park. We got some drinks and headed over to Haunted Mansion where he threw up all over the place. In less then two minutes there must have been 4 or five people on us and a few had ties. My friend just wanted to head back to the room and caught the bus. The head tie was all over me with a clip board getting all of the info they could get. After he copied all of the stuff he tried to give me a set of fast passes for the rest of the day (I have a GAC for my son so I didn't need it.) and then took us right into HM and put us right on a ride. I was so amazed at this. Next time I need to get on right away I will have to remember the throw up trick

In all the years I've been going to Disney, the other night was the first time I saw actual throw up on the ground...someone did NOT have a good time on the Tea Cups (it was right outside that ride's exit)!

Surprisingly, on our most recent trip, I had an incident where I had expected to see security, but didn't. We entered MK as the crowds were leaving after Wishes. As we went under the railroad and walked across the circle, somehow I misjudged the curb and went flying, landing on my knee, really hurting myself. Nobody came to my aid and I eventually was able to get myself up. I have to assume that security was busy with the exiting crowds and just didn't notice.

I too have not read every post - I hit every 10th page to just get the flavor....

My information is 15 years old (my gosh! it doesn't seem that long), but I doubt things have changed too much.

Security came in three varieties in the parks. The regular cast members with the uniforms, hats and badges. There were security managers that usually had dress clothes and an earpiece - you would notice them. Then there were the "foxes" in plain clothes (shorts, t-shirts and ball caps) - you would have no idea. Usually had a radio in a shopping bag.

They used to bring the shoplifters to one of our shops and let them pay for their stuff. It was never said, but I always thought the shoplifters got a better deal if they paid for their haul (usually odd stuff).

If you saw vomit on the ground, you called custodial with a "protein spill" There were bags of Vobaum (sp) inside all the trashcans. In minutes, they were there covering it with Vobaum and sweeping it up.

If there was blood, another call to custodial -"blood on the ground" - would bring a crew with a special box. They seemed to get there is seconds. The box was full of gloves, masks, special trash bags....it seemed like they cleaned, bagged and put it all back into the box.

At least that is the way I remember it

@DavidH

Just came back from POR and had a great time there. make sure you see Piano Bob he is a trip. My kids wanted to use the pool so I only saw him for about 20 minutes but he worth it.

Also I was at the lounge on another day and order Purple Haze abita beer and it sucked, the waitress asked if I liked it and told her no and she switched the half glass for a full Turbodog. Great people there.

We had an incident 2 years ago with my mom in the Bird show--she started to pass out, had to lie down on the bench. My DH told the CMs and they sent him to get a wheelchair from the first aid station. No men in black, no help--I didn't want to stand up in the middle of the show and ask for help-- I'm a nurse and we never ask for help anyway lol- we got her in the chair and to first aid and left a few hours later. Her blood pressure was very low. Took the wheelchair out of the park to the bus stop--they didn't charge us for it, amazingly enough.

While this does not qualify as undercover security, I had a long distance brush with security.

I was checking my blog's stat reports, particularly the section that shows the keyword searches that readers used to find the blog.

Anyway, there were several searches done by one person using a combination of words that made me a little uneasy. It could have been general interest, preparation for a prank, or something more sinister. I decided to pass the information on.

It took me a while to figure out who to call and get patched into the right people. I left a message, saying that I did not necessarily feel that it was of real concern, but I wanted to pass along what I had seen. Within 5 minutes someone in securitycalled me back, asked a ton of questions, and asked for screen shots of what I saw and any information I had on that reader. It was not much, but I sent along what I had.

They did tell me that this type of thing happens from time to time and they take it VERY SERIOUSLY and INVESTIGATE THROUGHLY. They thanked me for bringing it to their attention and told me never to hesitate to do so again in the future. Of course I never heard back from the security team.

Love it

I love this thread. I read the entire thing already. I am in Law Enforcement and have thought of working for Disney security when I retire in about 9 years. Are there any current or former security CM's on here that wouldn't mind PM'ing me as I have some questions about how you like the job? I do realize it is a job and not like vacationing there but have some specific questions relative to what I could be hired for with my experience as well as benefits/salary questions. Thanks!

It was an odd stroller with some kind of cover since it was pretty cold and would be easy not to notice the baby in there. I gave the CM standing there a wide eyed OMG look when I realixed what was happening. We got in line and I continued to watch to see what would happen. Several other CMs showed up but they all stood back near the Tiki Room discussing with only the one CM standing near the stroller and she was really several feet to the side, and then here comes what I presume was the baby's mother back through the Aladdin line, she was up near the front of the line with an older woman and a small girl. About the time they she reached the area where the stroller was, a man showed up from the direction of the Jungle Cruise (getting fp's maybe?) The CMs came over immediately and were attempting to express that it was not OK to just leave the baby unattended, the family was obviously from Asia and kept trying to walk away not seeming to understand and the CMs were saying that security was on the way and they should wait there for security. I didn't see the end because we were at a point in line where I couldn't see clearly. There was very little fuss, I doubt if most people realized anything was happening.
You have no idea, there's many people who's willing to leave their small kids behind on their own to go on a ride. I've been accused of several parents of leaving their kids on their own because they expect me to watch them. Worst part though, when I worked in a smaller park that had a small water park area within it, was that sooo many parents would leave their small kids in the water park area all on their own while going on the rides themselves. There were so many times when we had to fish up a small kids that went under in the water and we couldn't find the parents because they were playing around in the park.

Also, one of the pp's mentioned how the undercover CMs kept asking if they wanted medical assistance. The reason why they ask several times is because it's Disney policy to ask the guests three times. It's probably because of the liability issue, that if a guest declines three times, then at least they've been offered and also had the opportunity to rethink their answer as some people tend to decline it the first time.

Yeah, I was wondering when this thread would pop up again. I don't have a new story, but I did want to mention something. Maybe the CMs or someone can fill me in.

When we were down in '06 there were OBVIOUS security folks walking around the parks (uniforms, badges, etc.). On our most recent trip (last Dec.) I didn't see any of that. Do they only break out the heavy security during peak times? Have they relaxed some in the past five years? Just curious...

Do you think anyone with authority could tell you?

Well and with not having to kill you.

Me and a a couple of friends got escorted out of DTD once. We went for some drinks the night we arrived and the few drinks turned into too many. We weren't loud and obnoxious or anything, just there enjoying the beer. Apparently DTD closes at 12:30 on Sunday nights so just after that time a security guard came up and informed us the area was closing. Even if one of the staff at the cigar bar had asked us we would have left no problem. We were fine with that, but he did walk with us all the way out to the taxi area and saw us off. I remember him being nice and pleasant. We left our car there overnight as we were in no shape to drive.
