Oh and are you implying that you managed to get into Le Cellier on this trip? I rememeber you saying you'd do anything to get in. Hopefully you didn't have to do anything too embarassing.
Universal? What is that?

Kidding....but YES I was picturing the EXACT same scene. Disney does not want you off their property and they will stop at NOTHING!

Yes, I got us into Le Cellier! I KNEW I'd find a way!!!!!!! You will have to wait until Chapter One Thousand, Part 80, Section C. But it is an interesting story!

Universal is the place where dreams go to die. It's an awful, terrible, horrible place.

Was that too harsh? Can you tell I don't like it? I mean, I've only been there once- in 10th grade when my HS orchestra did the Magic Music Days program, and my director insisted on spending a day at Islands of Adventure- but I was so underwhelmed it's not even funny. Maybe I'll do a rant about my mis-adventures at Universal in my PTR. It could be quite entertaining.

And *high five* for managing to get into Le Cellier. Hopefully, you'll review it before I leave for my trip in July. I have my first ever ADR there and I need advice! All I know so far is that I'm getting the Cheddar Cheese Soup and the Chocolate Moose dessert (because I'm a sucker for food shaped like animals...and ever since I was little my nickname has been Karaboo, like caribou, which is kind of like a moose). I haven't picked an entre though!

LOLOL whoa. WHOA. I didn't realized you hated Universal THAT much! I honestly have only been there twice when I was 8 and 12 and I had a good time but it has never been AMAZING. I have a few good memories there though. I really would like to give it an honest and fair shot though, as an adult(ish) going in and experiencing it with a full game plan and all of that. I just never can get away from Disney. Physically can not. I would love to stay at one of the Universal resorts though because I hear they are spectacular. SO maybe one day.

Day 1, Part 5 In Which We Spend Hours Screaming “TEST TRACK BABY!” Along With Stacey On The TV In Our CBR Room!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding. We went to Downtown Disney for lunch.

But I DID watch Stacey run around Walt Disney World one whole time through. I had to. She has been around so long that she is now part of the Disney tradition for me.

I just love that crazy bird. I mean who doesn’t? Oh… most of you? Ok. I know most find her annoying. I relate to Stacey because I tend to get overexcited about things. Especially little things. I tend to bounce around, giggle, and yell a bit when I feel this overexcitement. People often tell me to shut up or calm down. I never listen. Whatever, I’ve only got one life to live and so if I’m excited I’m gonna express it.

HOWEVER. I am disappointed with the NEW Stacey show. They clearly gave her a valium before filming because she was not even NEAR as insane as she used to be! And what’s with her standing in front of that fake background all calm discussing Disney like a normal person? I prefer when she is running around, yelling and dragging out her words. “LOOOOK at all the LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY people in the LAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY river!!!” You know? Sheesh!

See what I mean? She’s just kind of… standing there. Jump around or something!

There were still plenty of Staceyisms, but I prefer the super intense, on crack Stacey. Next time do not hold this chick back, Disney. Rile her up!

Ok… let’s get going on this thing now. Bell Services Guy finally came and I took these pics before getting in the van:

He drove us over to Martinique building 22. And showed us which way to go to get to the room. He said he would meet us there with our bags.

CBR is just insanely beautiful. It was so quiet on the way to our room, I mean we saw no one, and this is how it was most of the time we were there. There is beautiful greenery everywhere. It’s cool because outside of your room kinda looks like a Caribbean forest right off of the beach, and it is, cause if you walk out of the area where the buildings are, you come across the beach. It’s just amazing.

We had one of the Nemo rooms, which I wanted. I avoided the pirate rooms because of Pete Werner’s (for those who don’t know, the founder/owner of this very website!) review of them. Apparently there are not real mattresses on the beds in the pirate rooms and a lot of people complain about this. Also they are pretty dark and I’m not that into the pirate thing. If there were pictures of Johnny Depp on the walls I would consider it though!

I wanted a bright, sunshiny room and that’s what we got. They’re simple, but I like em:

We settled in, chilled, and unpacked a bit… TEST TRACK BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry. Anyway at this point I changed into a SUNDRESS!!!!!!!!!! BABY!!!! BECAUSE IT WAS WARM AND I COULD! Oh it was just glorious. We really wanted to explore CBR, but we were STARVING. Our breakfast of diet coke hadn’t really cut it. I didn’t care because I was so excited to go to my FAVORITE Walt Disney World counter service location… WOLFGANG PUCK EXPRESS!!

We walked to the Martinique bus stop and pretty soon the Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon bus was pulling up. We got off at the Marketplace, and I have to say, it was a strange thing to be going to Downtown Disney right away, but a welcome change. By the time we got there it was around 2:30 and we were famished, so we didn’t do anything else before heading to Wolfgang Puck’s.

It’s a short walk from the Marketplace bus top to WPE, so I only snapped a few pics:

LOVE the Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Two of my favorite characters all dressed up for Christmas, which I just can’t get into in April, but it would be really fun to go to that store during the Holidays.

Flowers and how well the gardeners at WDW do everything is one of my favorite things so expect a lot of flower pictures!

If you’ve never been to WPE, you need to re-evaluate your life and entire way of thinking, really. It’s just so freaking delicious, I can’t even tell you. If you read my PTR, you know I randomly walked in there on my solo trip having never planned to eat there, but I did. And I nearly died because of how incredible it is there. Not only is it my favorite CS place at WDW, it’s better than a lot of the TS places to be honest. Really. Just go there now.

I’ve decided that I’ll be doing a Dining Report over on the Restaurant Board, so I’m not going to include every little detail of our delicious WPE meal. If you think you can’t get good pizza at WDW, you’re… right. For the most part. They are hiding the good pizza at Wolfgang Puck’s, so that is what I suggest you order, but really anything you get will taste like it was made by Jesus himself.

We went up to the counter and there was no one there, in fact the whole place was nearly empty. It was a good time of day to be at Downtown Disney because everyone was at the parks. We sat town and practically had the place to ourselves!

We shared the Four Cheese Pesto Pizza and a side of macaroni & cheese. This is what I had on my solo trip and so I told my mom she could order whatever she wanted but that I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS!!!!! You all do that, right? You look at the menus and know what you want to order, but you also know what you want your family to order, too? LOL.

At this point I can not even describe how happy I was. Seriously. I couldn’t believe that after all this time of sitting and thinking about it that I was finally there. I don’t even think I was enjoying it to the extent that I could have because I literally couldn’t believe it. It took awhile to sink in, you know? Disney. FINALLY. I’m here. Eating the pizza I’ve thought about for a year and a half. You may think I’m nuts but that’s just because you haven’t been to Wolfgang Puck’s and DON’T UNDERSTAND!!

Four Cheese Pesto Pizza:

Yeah that’s right. There’s olive oil literally just sitting atop that pizza. Stop drooling. The thing I love about this is that the ingredients are just so FRESH and it’s the first thing you think of when you take a bite. If you can even form coherent thoughts. Oh and eating this after you’ve been on a diet for 100 years is not recommended because I almost passed out.

Macaroni & Cheese side:

Best mac & cheese I’ve ever had, hands down.

It was so delicious that I believe we were both making questionable noises during the time we ate but whatever, you can’t prove it!

We rolled out of there and saw these guys:

Ducks are freaking EVERYWHERE at Walt Disney World. I have many duck (and DUCKLING) pictures and stories from this trip.

I had planned on going over to Ghiradelli for dessert, because we’ve never been there and people here on the DIS are obsessed. The pictures on the Food Porn thread were enough to convince me. I was too full to enjoy one of those decadent desserts, and so I told my mom (remember, she had no part in the planning and just wanted me to surprise her the whole time, so she never has any idea where we’re even going) what I was thinking. She said that even though she was super full too she wanted to go check it out so we headed over.

Ghiradelli was CRAZY busy. I had wanted to order one of their famous sundaes (like the No Way Jose) but I was just too full and I knew it would mostly go to waste even if we shared it. My mom ended up getting two scoops on a cone and it was huge! My mom insisted I have some and I did not decline.

Now… it WAS delicious, I mean obviously. But I didn‘t think it was the BEST ice cream ever like many say.. Maybe it’s cause I didn’t have one of the sundaes, but I really wasn’t crazy about this place! I’d still go back, duh. But it’s not a MUST do.

Those big brown pipes say that they have chocolate running through them which is too cute.

We finished up the cone and headed back outside. We were going to shop for awhile, but I really REALLY wanted time to explore CBR a bit and swim before our dinner ADR. I had not been in a pool in God knows how long, and I just had such a desire to swim! So we headed out. I took this picture of the marina:

Sigh. I miss you, Downtown Disney.

Ok guys, that's it for today.. i've got to run! Up next: Why we didn't go to one of the parks on our first day, fun at CBR, and our first ADR!!!!

Thanks for reading guys

TEST TRACK BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STACEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

Stacey is the single greatest thing about Walt Disney World. Ok, maybe not. But she's pretty awesome. The second we get into our hotel room, my sister turns her on and we sit and watch. Over and over. Until my parents can't stand it anymore. Because not only do we watch...we quote the entire thing. Then we quote her in the parks. Because she says so many quote-worthy things. A la "TEST TRACK BABY". Her constant refrain of "Let's hit it!!!" The Triple Mountain Whammy. "It's Yeti Time!" I could go on and on.

And you're right. She's not quite as fun now that they've toned her down. And "Must Do's"? So lame compared to the Top 7 ("Top 7? That was more like 107.") I miss the old hyper Stacey. I just want her to yell at me some more.

Alright, now that that's out of my system...you're room looks really relaxing. I LOVE all of the Nemo characters on the bedding. So cute!

Wolfgang Puck's Express...That pizza looks delish! But I've gotta say, the real star is the Mac&Cheese. I can't look away. I keep scrolling back to the picture and drooling. It looks so good! I wonder if I can talk Wolfgang into sending some to Ohio. Probably not...so I'll just have to stop and get some in July.

Oh my gosh, I completely agree! I really do miss the old Stacey...and those crazy bun things she called a hairstyle. Personally, they reminded me of Mickey Mouse ears. The first time I saw the new show I was like "Who are you and what have you done with Stacey?!"

Oh girl, I completely love Wolfgang Puck too! That pic of that pizza really did have me drooling! You need to put up a warning next time: WARNING: IF YOU ARE EXTREMELY HUNGRY, DO NOT LOOK AT THIS PIC. YOU JUST MIGHT TRY TO EAT YOUR COMPUTER SCREEN. lol. Question- what is the difference between the WPE and the TS WP at DTD?

HAHAHAHA HOW DID I KNOW YOU WERE ALSO A STACEY FAN?

Thank God for this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se_7yLlRzeM

You know what I was thinking? She must be one of the most recognized people in the world. Like even more than some movie stars. I mean think about it, if you've stayed at a Disney resort in the past 8,000 years, you'd recognize her. It's crazy. I bet she gets stopped all the time with people yelling "WHOA! Look at those CHOMPERS!" in her face LOLOLOL.

I also wonder how much of that they wrote for her and how much is just her talking about Disney? I mean they can't possibly write some of the stuff she says. Seriously.

I'm giving this too much thought. MOVING ON!!!

YESSS Puhleeeeeeeeaaaaase go to Wolfgang Puck's. You will not be disappointed!!! This was not our only time eating there this trip. In fact they now recognize us. In fact I think the owner made me the godmother of his child.

Dude, totally. I can imagine them filming the new, toned down version and drugging her and telling her to relax with the yelling a bit. And then boom, she snaps out of it and starts acting like a madwoman again and they're like "WE'VE GIVEN HER TEN VALIUMS!!! HOW IS SHE DOING THIS?" Oh that Stacey. I just love her.

Yep, I agree. I like that it's not SUPER SUPER themed, just enough to add that perfect Disney touch

That sounds like a really sweet tradition. I'll definitely be going when we're there in November.

Well let me warn you in advance: we had some AMAZING meals at WDW and I took pics of everything so prepare yourself! I've never been to the TS Wolfgang Puck's, but I would absolutely try it. Maybe next trip. The menu is definitely more involved and expensive, wider range of dishes, and fancier. I'm sure it's beyond delicious.

It is soooo relaxing. I've never done Pick-a-Pearl but that's another thing i've always wanted to try! Another thing: the margaritas!!! One more year until I get to try all the fancy alcoholic drinks at WDW... specifically WS... I want a Grey Goose Slushie LOL!! Did you know that if you get caught underage drinking at WDW, even if you aren't tipsy or anything, you get thrown out? I have to say it's not a bad policy. Who wants teenagers running around drunk? But the drinks just look so fun and I want one! Especially since I looove the F&W Fest so much but can never pair my food with the wine. Maybe that's better though... always good to save money and calories. Anyway all I know is I don't want a wild, crazy, Vegas 21st... I just want to go have a drink at WS. That is all I ask. LOL.

Haha, I can imagine it too! Poor girl. Had to be going out of her mind being that calm!

I can't wait to see all your meal pics!! Eating is part of the fun for our trips, that's for sure!

Ooooh my gosh, you have to try a grey goose slushie!! I didn't know that rule! That is a good one to have though. Don't want any crazy drunk teens running around!

Hey, a drink at WS is a good request for your 21st!

OH. MY. GOD.

It's 8 AM (Why am I up this early? I don't know. I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep.) and I am now watching STACEY and laughing hysterically. Best morning ever.

And yeah, Stacey is totally one of the more recognizable people in the world. I wonder if she ever just goes to Disney for fun. I refuse to wait in a 3 hour line to meet Tinkerbell, but I'd totally wait that long to meet Stacey. I wonder if that's even her real name...

I've also thought about whether or not what she says is scripted. I feel like some of it probably is, but there are definitely some things she says that a group of people sitting in a writers room somewhere just couldn't have written. Unless those writers are all just as crazy as Stacey. If that's the case, how to I apply for a job there? I'd fit right in.

While reading the first page i noticed you love FRIENDs--Favorite show of all time, can quote every episode, own all the magazines from when it ended lol I was obsessed! Other things to note:

Superbad was my moms and mine 'dirty movie' ice breaker now we've watch stuff Zach and Miri, 40 year old virgin, love actually etc--it doesn't make me squirm like it used to

I love that you love the same shows I do! Lost, 30 Rock (did you see last nights episode with Buzz Aldrin yelling at the moon? AMAZING!)

about the Nick campaign-there actually is one I think!!! I really wish they would play the classics like Wild & Crazy Kids, Hidden Temple, Weinerville, What Would You Do?, Doug, ugh, memories

about the straws: My brother and I have an ongoing joke about them because I have a bad habit of chewing things and I chew straws like I was having a nicotine fit (FYI never smoked a cigarette in my life lol) so I HATE THEM because you can't chew them

LOVE STACEY!!!! "look at those choppers!" "um. there doesn't seem to be any track"

I feel like some of it probably is, but there are definitely some things she says that a group of people sitting in a writers room somewhere just couldn't have written. Unless those writers are all just as crazy as Stacey. If that's the case, how to I apply for a job there? I'd fit right in.
hahahahaha OH, early morning Stacey is the best kind of Stacey there is!! Are you kidding? I mean, if they can have stupid High School Musical songs and Stitch on the wake-up call, they need to include Stacey. Imagine being all drowsy and picking up the phone at 6:30 am and you hear "TEST TRACK BABY!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" That would wake you RIGHT up.

Oh, my my are YOU in the right place. YES I SAW 30 ROCK LAST NIGHT. Buzz to the Moon: "Return to the night! You have no business here!" Could barely breathe.

I'm soo happy you included What Would You Do? and Weinerville! People always leave those out it seems! I miss those shows sooo much! You can get a ton of old Nick shows online, but not those. Sigh.

Welcome and thanks for reading... like I said you are in the right place! Especially cause I USED TO CHEW STRAWS TOO! And still do, sometimes. To be honest. Anyway when I get more time I wanna check out your TR too!!

LOL at all the Stacey comments. I love her too! On one trip a couple years ago our flight was cancelled ...we were lucky enough to get onto a later flight that day but we missed precious park time. We didn't arrive at SSR until around midnight, meaning our luggage didn't get there until the middle of the morning. When we heard the knock on our door my sister and I were giddy with excitement that our luggage finally arrived (we thought it got lost ) so we decided to turn on Stacey since we couldn't fall back asleep...this was at like 3:30 am and we were going to the MK for EMH at 7 am. We are such dorks but she has some of the greatest lines ever! "I'm about to get my ride on." The new show is so lame.

Whoa, sorry for that rambling. YAY for arriving at your resort and going to DTD!
