Heather,

Do you have a picture of Bill and Anna on our way to IN-N-OUT? Those in our little Jimmy Kimmel Live group know which picture I am talking about. If so, can you please post it or PM it to me? Thanks!

Jennifer

I think to just save time I'm going to pre-purchase VIP tickets but can't make up my mind as to where to sit. I could get front row mezz or rows 7 thru 9 are available in the orch. I know that you all got to tour the theatre on your tour and that some even show a movie there. Any insights you can give I'd appreciate.

Also, any other suggestions on things to do during our free time in LA would be great.

Thanks,

meg

If I recall you'd be ok with either location. I think they are specifically selected for optimal sound. I think VIP is the way to go, I would do the same if I were seeing a show there.

You may get a better view of the organ from the lower level though.

Chris

Hi Meg,

I saw Alice In Wonderland at the El Capitan before the Backstage Magic tour started. Seeing a movie in that theater is an outstanding experience, absolutely one of the highlights of the trip.

When I bought my ticket (I bought it the day of, a couple of hours before show time) I was going to buy a ticket for the VIP seating ($25 it included small popcorn/soda and not having to wait in line when the theater opened), but opted not to when the ticket seller told me the theater would not be even close to being full...this was a Monday afternoon and it was a slow day for the theater. She said that I would be better off buying a regular ticket ($13) and that I would be able to sit pretty much wherever I wanted. I ended up sitting in the orchestra one row behind the reserved seats. It was terrific!

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either the VIP or regular seating. It might be good to have the VIP seating if you are going to a showing at a peak time (Fri/Sat night, Sun matinee, etc.) to absolutely guarantee a good seat.

Have a great time on the Backstage Magic tour...I can't wait to go again!

Bill and Anna on par:

My goal is to get my pictures up to the Flickr group this weekend.

Meg - I remember the TD (or house manager) at the El Capitan saying that the best seats are a little ways back. The front row of the mezzanine would be fantastic. I went to a D23 event there and was in the balcony and it was still great. You'll have a fantastic time!

My Dad is slowly fading away but also hanging in there. I am working on getting him a PC that he can have at the nursing home so he can play his favorite golf game. It won't be much longer, but I want him to be able to party to the end.

It's been great to have the big fun and wonder of our trip inside me while I've been doing this hard thing with my Dad.

Hey Chris and Jason - thank you both for responding. It helps to hear from people that have actually been in the theatre. I think I'm going for the front mezz for this one. I'm really looking for to seeing a movie there and then getting to do the backstage tour a couple of days later.

Wow - can't believe that exactly 3 months from today I'll be at the welcome dinner.

Getting caught up again....

Glad to see the CD's/DVD's are arriving and any confusion regarding them was cleared up.
Sorry I did not get back in to answer you Dodie (FB reference) but it was a busy week.
My disc and box says "Vacation Slideshow and Photo Archive DVD", everything on the disc, no need to use the website.

By the way.....it snowed here yesterday!!
Winds up to 60mph, then a drastic temperature drop.
Neighbour across the street lost a huge tree.
Snow is gone now, but we had about an inch.

Later!!

Strange Question Time:

In your groups visit to Walt's apartment, did you hear music? If you heard it, you'll know what I'm asking and that would be a yes, if you don't have any idea what I'm asking, that's a no.

Jim

My group heard music during our Walt's apartment visit.

HEY DODIE! You might want to hold off a sec on your scrapbook order. Heather has posted a couple of cute photos of you in her Flicker account.

Tonya: There's a cute one of you and your mom in there as well!

Heather: GREAT PHOTOS! Thanks so much for posting them!

Front mezz is a popular choice because it's unusual for most theatres to have seating there. Just in case you don't know, the organist performs before the pre-show starts, so you might want to arrive 30 mins before showtime to catch him - it's amazing. The organ was "dressed" for AiW - it will be fun to see what they do with it for TS3, and what props they have in the sub-lounge. Have a fab time!
