I remember our last day in the parks before hitting the road was May 22nd. It was sunny and nice up until about noon. A lot of people seemed to come out of hiding and back to the parks. As we got in the van and started the drive out of the MK just after 12:00, the skies opened up again in a major downpour that I think lasted most of the rest of the day.

It actually started to rain the 13 May. I just looked at my web log and the 12 was a very hot rainless day.
But never the less we will be there from 10 until 15 may and no storm, hail or thunder will spoil the fun.

Torrential, incredible rain during our week-long visit last May. It was lovely the day we got there and lovely the day we left. We basically decided we were going to have a good time no matter what fell out of the sky (and were glad not to see any pianos or Wile E. Coyote-style anvils!). We had a wonderful week, albeit a very wet one. We're going back this year, and while I'm hoping we get wonderful, clear, warm weather, I now know we can splash around the parks and have fun, too!

I was there last year May 9th-16th. The weather was awesome and the crowd level was great. I know that the week after we were there it rain a lot, but that would not deter me from going again in May. We are going in August this year because it fits our work and school schedules better than May.

I was there in May '09. I remember we had a really intense storm one day but luckily we were taking a break in our hotel room at the time. There was also a constant but relatively light rain one night while we were at DHS.

This May I'm taking a break from the rain and heading to DLR.

Wasn't there last year but will be there 5/18-5/23 this year.
What happens when it rains all day. Are all the rides at the park still open?

Cool May

We are the total opposite. We went in May 09 and was there the 1st couple of weeks when they were having records heat EVERY day. We were gone before all the rain started. We are going again this May and are hoping that it's not as hot as last year.

yep - we were there 5/17 - 5/22. And rain was a way of life. At one point in Epcot during an especially hard downpour we got our feet soaked in water over our ankles. Water does not always drain well in some spots.

There was a humorous moment at DHS during the Star Wars WKND parade. It had rained off and on that morning; then as the parade was due to start we all heard loud lightning! Then an announcement, "ladies and gentlemen - there has been a disturbance in the force. Activities will begin shortly!"

Got a laugh from the crowd.

That is too funny a "disturbance in the force".

We were there too!!!!!!!! It was HOT!!!!!!! I remember getting home and hearing all about the RAIN! We were lucky we had rain the last day, the sky opened up!!!!!! We were on our way to CM for dinner and the rain was finished when we were on our way back to the resort.

We like to go the end of April and have decided to return then this year! My DS will be 11 on the 26th and I will be 40 on the 27th!

We were there 5/9-16 last year. Whe we left that Monday it started to pour. We were going to stay on St. Augustine for a few days at the beach but after watching the weather channel at our hotel we checked out and drove straight back to Virginia. A very long night. I think I would have killed myself if it had rained like that on our vacation. I do not do well with rain when I have one vacation a year. I hope our luck holds out this year. A few afternoon showers are okay but not a monsoon. We did have rain the night we went to MBYBQ but we had a great time anyway. The BQ is under a shelter so we did not get wet except getting there and leaving....

The parks are still open, with the exception of some parades starting late due to lighting, everything pretty much ran like it was suppose, we actually got more accomplished during the rain then previous years when there was no rain go figure
