cake on board?

Hello,

We are sailing on the Wonder to Alaska in July. My son will turn 10 on the cruise and I would like to have a small cake for him.

I was looking at Disney's website and it looks like they won't put special messages on their cakes.

Do I have other options? I really want to get a cake with his name on it.

Thanks!

My daughter celebrated her 3rd on the Magic last year. I brought all the decorations with me and decorated the cabin (no balloons though!). The decorations package Disney offered looked a little cheesy and I was able to decorate with Minnie, princesses, etc.

I didn't order the cake either but they did bring her a desert and sang to her in the dining room that night, which was fine. If you want his name on it, why don't you supply the candy letters you get in the baking supply aisles at the grocery store? It's better than nothing. Enjoy!

Here is a thread talking about it. This topic comes up every once in a while and the reviews are mixed on the cake orders. The birthday cake they give now at dinner is tiny but they may be able to write a name on the plate.

I would think about ordering a cake to be picked up in Juneau.
Silverbow Inn may have something to fit your needs or the Foodland IGA should have traditional bakery cakes.
Suspect either would taste better than the DCL cake.

Not sure they would let you bring this back onboard.

I'd check with DCL. Because Juneau is a part of the United States, the same restrictions *may* not apply. I can't find anything on the government sites, so DCL would be the best to ask at this point.

My daughter is turning 8 on our cruise so my plan is to order a cake and then put those name candles on the cake. We are going to request to do this in the dining room so we will not have lit candles in our cabin.

In not sure they'll light them in the dining room either. I'd check to avoid disappointment.

No fire allowed. They don't even cook with fire in the kitchen.
