Gosh...I knew that they sold FOTL passes...but I thought Wish Kids got even in front of that? That they escorted you guys to the FOTL, too.

I am wondering how all of the hype about Harry Potter will affect the wish kids and how they are handled in the parks - so this is interesting to me. I was hoping it would be an extra "bonus" - but it sounds like maybe they were having an off day or possibly they are about to be dealing with a major crowd influx and are trying to get ready for it?? Who knows.

Bless your heart on the norovirus! I am sure you didn't start it! And if you did - well, you didn't know! I am actually glad GKTW shut stuff down for a bit to see if they could curb it.

We were glad too GKTW closed down too, with all the immuno-suppresed kids there it was the only thing to do. Maybe Disney spoiled us, and US just couldn't live up! LOL This coming from the girl who wasn't super excited about Disney World, but thought US/IOA was gonna be a blast...who knew!?

Wow Amber....I'm sitting here thinking "what could be worse?" I am so happy you were able to make a nice family night!!

I think my fave is the kids all in the bed together!! My kids are like that too. I laugh all the time....one second they are killing each other and the next they are all curled up in a twin bed sound asleep!!!

Waiting for the next installment!!!!

Honestly...after reading dozens of MAW trip reports...the only sure thing seems to be that everyone seems to be surprised by something on their trip - one thing was much better than they thought and usually something they thought would be great was only "okay."

I think everyone comes back with a moment on their trip that took them totally by surprise and ended up being a highlight of the whole trip.

And it seems like it is usually family time - like your Christmas Party.

Wow you did have a lousy experience at US/IOA huh? Sorry to hear so many rides were closed. We were fortunate I guess as we didn't experience that at all. I must say I don't understand your experience with the lines though.....................we were personally escorted up back stairs/elevators and brought right to the very front of the line every single time. And people had FOTL passes then too?

Ahhhhhh, so you're not simulation ride fanatics huh? That does explain some of it Personally I'd pick the Simpson ride over almost any ride at the Disney parks.

That's crazy about them 'closing the village'! But like someone else said, seems you guys were able to make the best of it

I also like the px with everyone tangled in the bed. Looks like MY bed!!!!!!

as far as the FOTL goes, I can't complain, we definitely waited longer at some WDW rides. And as far as the people at US, they were all nice, but not in the same way as Disney. We felt like royalty at Disney. Had we not already done MK, and Epcot, we would have been super pleased with the service at US.

Ahhhhhh, so you're not simulation ride fanatics huh? That does explain some of it Personally I'd pick the Simpson ride over almost any ride at the Disney parks. That's funny, we all said how much we LOVED the Simpson ride, if it hadn't made us so ill, it would have been a favorite. We must have bad equilibrium or something. Did you do the Arctic Wild ride at Sea World? We got so sick from that ride!!! Plus, there may be another reason for our trouble....which you'll read in the next instalment
I love how each family makes their wish trip fit their needs and likes.

Amber,

We actually didn't do the SeaWorld ride. Sounds like it might've been right up my alley

I just think perhaps the treatment you get is kind of like luck of the draw. We actually had people falling all over us at US/IOA..............."are you having a good time?", "is everything ok?", "is there anything more we can do?" etc etc Did you guys ALL wear buttons or only James? That's one thing I have noticed in some people's pictures.............it's not always obvious that the family is on a Wish trip. On our trip every single one of us wore our MAW buttons every single minute of every day and Matty always had two on, one from MAW and one from GKTW. Maybe that had something to do with it

I actually found at Disney, with the exception of the CM's in most of the character lines and, of course, the people involved in the whole special meet and greet for Matty..................that most CM's seemed pretty laissez-faire. Kind of like..............."oh, another MAW family". Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Just funny that we had such different experiences.

Overall I think what all 3 parks do for our families is just amazing

HAHA yup, you would have loved it! It was a lot like Star Tours, but more jerky. Star Tours (or Star Wars, I can't remember the name) was a fun ride, we all enjoyed it.
On our trip every single one of us wore our MAW buttons every single minute of every day and Matty always had two on, one from MAW and one from GKTW. Maybe that had something to do with it Our wish org isn't MAW, and they don't have thier own buttons, so the only we had was the GKTW button. Maybe you're on the something?

you are so right, what all three parks do is just incredible, and while we had a better experience with WDW, the experience with every park we went to was above and beyond expectations. It was all truely magical.

In my next installment you'll understand why WDW cemented itself as our favorite one of the parks...

Hi, how are you and Piper doing? I think I'm just a lurker on your TR...the village needed to close down, it was the only option, but boy were we sad about it.
And yes, Dakota is pretty awesome, I've figured out they get really great right before they move out, how fair is that?
Next installment should be today, just putting the pics into photobucket.

Sometimes it's more fun to read the finished TR's so you get the whole story at once....especially someone like me who only updates once a week
Yes, hurray for Christmas. We watched the video of it last night, again. It's turning out to be our favorite "Disney" movie!
