DH & I will be dining at V&A in Sept., with dinner concluding at about 9pm. Does anyone know of a romantic place at GF to take a cocktail and view the Electrical Water Pageant (other than the boat dock)? Or do you think we would have time to monorail to Epcot for Illuminations...though not certain we want to walk much in fancy attire.
I can think of a few places. You could go to Narcoossee's for the cocktail and then head out onto the little deck off the entrance to the restaurant. I wouldn't walk onto the the wraparound deck as that would block diners' view.

If you go to the marina and walk along the left hand side to the end, I think you will be able to see the entire parade. That little area is very pretty and quiet.

You could also walk along the beach part way to the Polynesian and enjoy the view from there. It starts first in front of that resort at 9pm.

BTW, if you choose the wine pairings, you may not want a cocktail after dinner. You could still enjoy the Electrical Water Pageant. Bon apetit!

thumper* - BCV23 gave some great suggestions for watching the EWP! I thought I'd add that it would be difficult to make it to Epcot for Illuminations, as they start at 9 p.m. The trip to Epcot from the GF would take a minimum of 30 minutes, I think, and that's if you hit everything just right.

that room is beautiful! My husband and I are going in late April for my 40th birthday and I would love to get an upgrade to that room, but we are not usually that lucky!

I've seen that many of the restaurants in the parks (maybe even in the resorts) can add on cakes for $21. This may allow you to surprise her with a cake at dinner on her birthday.

You may want to check out the chocolate glass slippers you can order from the G.F. restaurants. I think they are about $15. I plan to order a few to take home as gifts when we visit V&A in Sept.
Thank you for the advice. I think we will probably order a cake at one of our ADR's. This seems to be the easiest solution, and my daughter likes very basic cakes. She is a vanilla or chocholate girl. I wish I could convince her to give some other flavors a try, but she isn't going for it right now. The glass slippers are so cute. Now I have to decide which one she will enjoy the most. We are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare and the slipper would be great if they offer it there.

Just wanted to post my Magical Story here. We were there 3/20-27 and had a great time. ( we didn't stay at GF though. We stayed at the BC)

We met a wonderful family though that had booked the Grand 1 yacht out of the GF to see the Wishes fireworks. Guess what.....they invited us to go along!!!!!!!! It was so awesome. The Grand 1 yacht is VERY nice!!!! If anyone is thinking of doing it I say go for it. It is a very cool experience. ( Hope this is ok to put on the GF thread)

Can anyone recommend a restaurant for Thanksgiving?

Citricos-We may want to eat there when the menu isn't modified.
1900 Park Fare
GF Cafe

We'll be traveling with my 74DM and her 83 year old husband. I don't want them to have to fight the theme park crowds.

I would choose Citrico's or GF Cafe. They both send to be on the calmer side and the food at both restaurants was fantastic in January.
