Oh Wow!!! The memories are flooding back! I remember watching Wild Kingdom and then Disney. I was not a little house fan so I usually went to bed right after Disney. I wish they still had some good programming on like that for my kids to watch!

<---- Check out my tag! Although I must be older than most of you because the line up I remember was M of O Wild Kingdom, The Wonderful World of Color, and then Bonanza. The Wonderful World of Color was extra special because we usually only got dessert on Sunday nights while it was on. (Hmmm, ice cream "soup")

PP we must be close in age because my happy Sunday night line up was M of O Wild Kingdom, Wonderful World of Disney and Bonanza (the episodes with Pernell Roberts as Adam)

I loved Walt's intros. and never minded the history lessons that often went with the programs. Zorro and The Scarecrow of Romney (Sp.?) Marsh were my favorites!

Wow, brings back happy memories! I loved them all! Every week we were entertained and educated. I wish they'd put those on DVD.

We were only allowed to watch Sunday night Disney if the Bruins were not playing!

Remember the movie, "Child of Glass?" (This would be 1978.)

A boy moves into a creepy mansion and meets the ghost of a little girl.

"Sleeping lies the murdered lass, vainly cries the child of glass. When the two shall be as one, the spirit's journey will be done."

That was my favorite Wonderful World of Disney episode! Or at least it's one that really sticks out in my mind.

Sadly, I wasn't around for the World of Disney (I think I was born in the wrong decade) but, I have seen all the intros and whatnot (How I love the internet). I just wish I was born about 40 years before I was... But, I did happily get 90's Disney Channel with the Saturday morning classic cartoons and Goof Troop.

You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into...The Twilight Zone. Hollywood, 1939. Amid the glitz and the glitter of a bustling, young movie town at the height of its golden age, The Hollywood Tower Hotel was a star in its own right; a beacon for the show business elite. Now, something is about to happen that will change all that. The time is now on an evening very much like the one we have just witnessed. Tonight's story on The Twilight Zone is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a maintenance service elevator still in operation, waiting for you. We invite you, if you dare, to step aboard because in tonight's episode, you are the star. And this elevator travels directly to - The Twilight Zone."

I saw the editions AFTER Walt Died, but they used to use the intros from him and it was really a good thing. This generation has a hard time realizing that Walt Disney was a real person.

I remember those days. It was extra special for us because we didn't own a color TV. However, my father worked at a tV repair shop (yes, you youngsters, you actually had your tv REPAIRED rather than buy a new one) and once in a while he'd bring a color tv home (with his boss' permission 'natch).

Yep! I was in Mutual of Omaha,WWoD, then Bonanza crowd. Raised on Walt's intros. When ever I go to the parks, I alwys try to find his voice somewhere to listen to- and to have my daughter listen,as well. Do any of you remember The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh serial with Patrick McGoohan? Boy,would I like to see that one again!

That's on one of the Treasures sets -- from 2008, I believe.

See a review of the DVD set here: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/drsyn.html

I'm right there with you. My brother's 11 years older than me and my parents had to enforce an every other Sunday rule. My Disney coincided with his The Rebel, so we took turns. I probably pre-date all of you because I watched the original Mousekeeters. I had a crush on Spin and Marty and I wanted to grow up to be Annette. I remember how happy it made me to hear the
M-I-C-K-E-Y song and the closing words, "Why, because we like you!"
I really love this forum!
