*Freezing February Fun* A 6 day trip at AKL full of fun and surprises!

Hi everyone, I just got back from my wdw trip on tuesday, and im just soo excited to start this trip report! We stayed at AKL on a 6 day trip from Feb 25-March 2. I was able to miss school because our trip over vacation had been cancelled due to a TON of snow, and i was just heartbroken! We're on the DVC, and stayed on savanna view, for a 2nd stay at AKL. This was our 4th trip to Disney and our first time going in February. Well i'll begin. My name's Lauren and I'm 13 and a HUGE disney fan! I even hope to be a disney imagineer someday! I'm not the kind of person who likes to relax at wdw.
I'm going going going all day at the parks.



Next is my 9 year old sister Grace. She can be annoying but is also pretty
nice. She isn't as into Disney as i am, but still enjoys it there. Although i'd
have to say her favorite part of the trip was probably the pool...lol.


My mom is 41, and is soo nice! She's really great to be around...but can get
a little bossy(guess we share the same habits). There's also my dad
who's also 41, and will spend the whole day in the parks with me, but he
can DEFINETELY get a bit grumpy.

ok so beginning the trip. We had to be to the airport 2 hours
before flight, so i thought i should set my REALLY loud phone alarm to
3 am. So, when it went off that morning at 3, everyone was mad
at me, because apparantly i didnt need to get up until 3:30....ooo well.

We then headed to the airport veery tired, and then boarded our plane
and took off at 6:10 right on time. It was our first time going on
Southwest airlines and we weren't too sure about it, because we
usually take Delta. It turned out that Soutwest was great!
I loved how they ordered what you wanted and didn't have those
giant carts banging into you, and the food was MUCH tastier than Delta!
So, after a long 3 hour flight we arrived in FL, and hopped on the
Disney's Magical Express Bus. And driving to the Animal Kingdom Lodge
we saw a real alligator! And we weren't even on the Kilimanjaro Safari
yet!

After awhile we finally saw the Disney World sign, and before
we knew it we were at the AKL!! Here are some pictures my dad
took of the resort..it was very dark there.




i loove the chandiliers there, and i just found out they were sheilds and spears!

Next we went to the desk and the lady there told us
we got the Sunset Savanna view(we got savanna view),
and she said it was her favorite. So here we are walking out
to our room which is miles away from all civilization!! And by
the time we get there we have this awful view we payed 102
points for! My mom immediately grabs the phone and calls the
front desk to switch our room. My dad who hates to complain
about anything is standing there seething and yelling. SO, we
head back down to the lobby, and the lady claims we'll get a
waay better room, and im thinking she had lied to us about
how the sunset savanna was SO great before!

After this little dilemna we decide to go straight to the
bus stop and go to MK. Of course we have to wait forever
for a bus! Now my dad is all like well that room was bad....etc.
While minutes befire he would have just taken it!

I think it's great that you are writing this TR! That CM either never has been to the rooms to see the views or just tried to make it sound like the view would be great. I hope your new room was much better and closer to the elevators!

hey guys! sorry i havent been posting in awhile ive been RLLY busy!
Ok, so when i left off we had just arrived at MK. There was a lady
on the bus who was obviously clueless about everythhing at
disney and thought as my mom as a travel guide. She asked
her a million questions about EVERY little thing, and im sure
when we got off the bus if we had asked them if they wanted
to come with us, they would be sure to say yes. My dad
took a few pix while my mom stood in the bag check line...i feel
like they dont check bags good enough...thts just me though

of course when we gt there that annoying
block party was going on..."heey get uuuup get
looouud start pumpin up the party now!!"ugh sooo annoying!


i love main street its sooo pretty!!


o and who's that? Why its pluto of course! I swear
pluto looks just like my dog charlotte!


And there we walked up the crowded Main Street,
and there was the gorgeus castle!! I love the feeling
of walking down main street and seeing the fairytale castle!
They were fixing it, and im wondering if they changed it,
cuz my whole family thought the castle looked pink, and there
was like dark blue lines around some of the light blue. You know what
i mean? well heres the castle pix.

alrite so where i left off we were walking up the
crowded Main Street, and decided since we hadnt
had any lunch yet to stop in our favorite Caseys
Corner, YUM!! After that we went to
Tomorrowland since we werent able to see much of
it our last trip.


I thought since some ppl on here say that the TTA is
waaay better since they changed it, so i decided to
give it a try




I was VERY wrong...or at least some of the ppl here
that liked TTA were. The ride was a total waste of my
time, and hadnt seemed to change a bit. Next we went on
the Stitch ride which was pretty good, and then my dad decided
to use his fastpasses on Space Mtn. He was soo excited to go
on since it had been closed for so long. Of course, me being the
big chicken i am wimped out, and once i wasnt going on, Grace
wasnt going on so my dad went himself.

So, Grace just HAD togo on stupid Astro Orbiters, so we
went to stand in the 30-40 minute wait in line! I stood
there fuming and yelling about why i must go on this, "baby ride!",
with all the little 3 yr olds and their parents giving me odd stares.

Heres Grace once we reached the top and were waiting to get on


Once we got on the ride was crazy!! Me and Grace
were almost sliding over the slide as we tipped, and
i was screeching at her to lower it, and in the end we
were laughing soo hard!


We went on Carousel of Progress which we always enjoy,
but id honestly have to say it smells kinda like old people in
there..lol. I actually sing along but alot of people sit there
yawning....

Then we stood in a short line in the Buzz Lightyear ride,
and for some reason i can NEVER find my stinkin red dot!


We got right on to Laugh FLoor next,


We then headed quickly over to Adventureland
and went on POC, and then began on our way
to our 4:00 reservations at Crystal Palace...
