Mickey and Minnie's houses will "not be eliminated."

I couldn't find the thread on this, but Lou Mongello is at D23's First Anniversary gala at WDW, and they are talking about the Fantasyland expansion. From Facebook:

To be clear: Mickey and Minnie's houses will "not be eliminated."

No clarification on what that means just yet...

I hope this is true. I have a picture of my daughter on minnie's front porch every year she has ever been to wdw. I do the same thing for my son on Mickey's porch. Our second son really got the leftovers though because his picture spot is Pluto's house.

Who would really miss them if they smashed em down? Congested and hot and nothing really exciting. They could go IMO.

My girls are going to be THRILLED that they won't be elminated. They love visiting the houses, especially the younger one. They are a huge part of our visits.

A LOT of childern would miss it! My DD was heart broken about not be able to see mickey's house again. She loves all the decor and getting to see how mickey lives.
I just hope it is open when we go in DEC, but i fear it may not be.
I will not be telling my DD untill i know for sure.

I would (miss them). I never found them the bother that you must. The less people means more fun for me and my family. BUT then again we can have fun anywhere especially at WDW.

A few weeks ago I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. The tour guide said that whole area will be completly different. I do know that when the refurb starts that whole area will be shut down. The only thing that is going to stay is Dumbo. but it will be moved to another location during the refurb. He said everything in that area is getting a refurb. Ill bet it will be a few years before everything is done. Oh well at least it will be an excuse to go back!
