Creative door decorations

I want to decorate our stateroom door (I'm not usually one to do this but DH has declared that this is our 1 and only Disney cruise.). I am super uncreative. Anyone have some examples or easy ideas? Thanks.

I just wanted to add that I was stressing, too, over the door decorations. Wanted to do something but I, too, am super uncreative. I even posted on this board to ask if somebody would please do stuff for me and I would pay them - but I found out that's not allowed!! I was referred to the DISigns forum of this board, and I spent a good bit of time searching through threads and requesting some disigns, and I ended up doing a fair number of magnets for our two stateroom doors. I started a long time in advance to give myself plenty of time, and it ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be. I used Kinkos to actually do the printing/laminating so I spent about $30, but the doors turned out great and the whole family was pleased/impressed with the results!

Also, one great suggestion I read was to go to Home Depot and pick up some of their Mickey ear paint chips. The kids and I cut out some of those and put magnets on the back to add to the door decor - cute addition.

just remember to put a personalization of some sort (name, or cabin #, etc) as these things have a habit of growing legs and walking away.

Good point. We didn't have anything disappear, even though some of it wasn't personalized. BUT, we did learn not to rely on messages written on our magnetic message boards to each other - people would walk by and apparently intentionally wipe off part of the messages we had left about where we would be/where to meet next/etc..... Finally just moved the message boards inside if we had to leave an important message to each other!

Sorry to hear things like that (magnets walking off and boards being wiped). Things happen, I guess, but a shame.

We were one of the unfortunate few to have magnets taken from our door. These particular magnets did not have a name or cabin number on them. I just started taking all the magnets in at night and putting them out on the door again the next day. I also got carried away and had enough magnets to rotate them throughout the cruise.

My doors turned out great.

I didn't go overboard-I used the Mickey paint chips from Home Depot, cut them out and applied the magnetic "tape" on the back.

I purchased an inexpensive program for my computer called Printshop and made my designs from there. I printed the final design on computer paper, had DH take them all to the office to have them laminated and put the magnets on the back. Voila! Beautiful door decorations that weren't hard to do.

They were very fun to make and I can't wait to start mine for my May cruise!

Shadowryter and Milliepie on the design board just made me a few awesome designs that I will use on our cabin door and for sweatshirts/tee shirts...they are a group of fantastic people on the design board that go way out of their way to make our trips more magical Good luck..
