When you return a rental.
ALways keep the form they give you after they check the car.It will indicate the gas level and condition of the car.
A few years ago I revieved a letter from Thrifty demanding 1,500 for damage they claimed on a car i returned. They claimed I was responsible for a damaged bumper. The sent a photo dated two weeks after iretuned the car which showed damamged that apeeared to be the result of backing into a wall.
I was able to show them that their employee checked car when ireturned it and there was no damage.
The next time I rented a car there was a slight scratch on it.
There was no other car availble that fit our needs.
I bought the scratch to the attention of the attendant who noted it on my paperwork.
I then took a photo the scratch on my cell and emailed to myself.
Many reantal companies have become very aggresive in seeking money for damage.

ALWAYS check every inch of the car BEFORE leaving the lot.
DO NOT be in a rush to dump the car back and froget to check.

I have a minivan from National for March 18 to 24 for $200.53 total. $353 is way too high.

No. Just enter the x274200 code. Also enter any coupon you might have (e.g. Costco or Entertainment).

This is a great code-

Just called Budget- gave them the code & the reservation lady
got me $225.00 before taxes for a SUV (Jeep Cherokee or similar)
she also added a coupon code w/out me asking which will
save us an additional $32.00

we are paying roughly $323.00 from 04/04/10 - 04/11/10
which includes taxes & $60.00 for infant seat-

best deal I've found for the week after Easter-

I am frustrated, yesterday I was given a rate of 365.00 total with all taxes etc but didnt book (had to make sure my two friends were on board with the SUV) and then today they same size suv was quoted 500.83 with taxes & fees. SO now I have to check with them again.

I wish it was just my money I was spending, I would have made an executive decision. lol. grrrr.

I just checked the National codes posted-for my dates (July 9-18). The price I got was $873 vs $379 thru Budget.
I hope National comes down for July travel, because they are my first choice, but for $500, I'll stick with door #2.
