Mattresses at Resorts

We stayed at POP in Dec. 2009 to do a budget trip since it was right before Christmas. We want to go back in the fall and trying to decide which resort to try!

DH said we *have* to upgrade this time as he HATED those mattresses at POP. They hurt his back and the full sized beds were hard for the two of us.

We're considering POR or WL...perhaps CBR. Can anyone tell me if the mattresses progressively get better to the moderate and then deluxe level?

Queen sized mattresses at WL? Full sized at POR and CBR? Thoughts appreciated!

Not necessarily.
We stayed in November at CSR and the mattress was great (to me).
A few weeks later we stayed at the BC. Luckily for me it was one night as the bed was not compatible for my back.

We stayed at the Yacht Club over New Year's and it was the best bed. We napped and laid down every chance we got. The room was newly redone and the pillows and mattress were so fluffy and wonderful.

We stayed at BWI in October. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Had we not just bought a new mattress for home a few years back, I would purchase one!

Best beds by far are at GF RPC. Really luxurious. Second best are at Swan/Dolphin.

CBR - double

POR - double

CSR - queen

WL - queen

I liked the mattresses at all of them. But the double beds are too small for us so for us we have to stay at a place with queen beds when all 4 of us go.

I've always felt that all the beds at WDW should be at least queen beds. I don't know anyone who squeezes into those tiny double beds anymore. Heck, even my 14 year old got a queen size bed for himself when we upgraded his bed at 12 years old.

I couldn't agree with your DH more about the sad condition of the mattresses at POP. I did notice however when I had a friend in a different building there that The mattresses differ from room to room. We had a firm and friend had a very saggy soft mattress.

I stayed at ASSp last October and although they are full size the mattresses were new since the resort was updated recently and POP hasn't been updated for a long time.

No value resorts have queens and the only moderate with queens is CSR as mentioned above.

CSR has just recently refurbished all their rooms and now all have queen size beds with comfort mattresses. They are the only moderate to have them. I was there this past Sept/Oct and again in Dec and the beds are the most comfortable I've ever had any WDW resort. This includes three of the values, all four moderates, AKL, WL, and BW. The most uncomfortable beds I've ever had were at POP and WL. The last time we were at PORS (Sept '08) the rooms could have really used refurbishment. The beds felt OK though (not near as good as CSR's, but OK).

The very best beds at WDW are at the Swan and Dolphin. I have almost refused to stay there again because I could not get my crazy family to get up!! I was missing time at the parks and they wanted to lay there in those comfy beds!! I finally did leave them and told them to call when they got to the park!

I've stayed at value, mod & deluxe & never had a memorable mattress at any of them! I think I'm spoiled, after staying a few times at The Swan & The Dolphin, NOTHING will compare to their Heavenly beds!!!! I stayed at BLT in Nov. so it was still new, and that mattress didn't impress me at all.

I found the beds at AKL to be the most comfy of the WDW hotels I've stayed in.

Swan/Dolphin Heavenly Beds!

The BEST beds are by far the Swan/Dolphin Heavenly Beds!

Now I know why they named them Heavenly Beds! Perfect description!!

They are the most comfortable beds ever. DH and I are early risers at Disney but had a very hard time getting out of bed each morning!

Those beds are amazing and nothing else remotely comes close!
