The Best New Year's Eve Ever ~ Part Two ~ Day Five

Thursday 31st December '09 ~ High 77F & Cloudy

We weren't in any hurry to get to a park for 7am, but we still managed to get to Animal Kingdom for 7.30am. The park was empty, so we rode Expedition Everest 3 times after picking up a fastpass for it too









After EE we took some photos and picked up a fastpass for Kilamanjaro Safari. While waiting for the safari fastpass time to come round, we had breakfast at Pizzafari, looked in some shops and headed to Camp Minnie~Mickey to take some photos. We saw Santa Goofy, Minnie and Mickey







We rode the safari, which was rather interesting when all the jeeps suddenly had to stop (which was for a good 15 minutes) and we were close to the lions (and far too close for my liking)





After the safari we used our fastpass for Expedition Everest and as we left the park, we ran into Lilo & Stitch







We went back to the Pop and spent an hour or so by the pool sunbathing and after a quick shower we caught the bus to Epcot ..

Once at a busy Epcot we headed straight to The Land and we had a couple of glasses of wine and Smirnoff Ices (we had brought Bek's Pop Century mug with us, and when no-one was looking, we'd fill it with the odd Smirnoff ~ naughty parents). We then set off for Norway as we were meeting Jules (saratogagirl) & Ian (Crispy Welsh) to recreate the fun of New Year's Eve in Epcot last year.

We met up as arranged and started with wines and lagers from the Norway stand, and after a couple of drinks Ian went to get another round when the castmember made a comment like 'I've seen you before, isn't this your 3rd drink ?'

After our 3rd drink in Norway (lol), we walked over to Italy as we had a dining reservation at 5.10pm at Tutto Italia. When we got there, there was a huge line for those without ADR's, but thankfully we went to the head of the line and were seated straight away. Jules & I started with a Bellini each, the lads still had their 3rd lager (lol) and Bek had a coke, as shockingly we couldn't get a Smirnoff for her here



We started with breads, then I think Jules had Minstrone Soup, Ian had "Bufala" Mozzarella (buffalo cheese & tomato), Paul & I had Prosciutto di Parma (parma ham and melon) and Bek just had the breads

For our mains, me, Jules & Ian had Cannelloni al Forno, Paul had Lasagna al Forno and Bek had Spaghetti. From what I remember, we all enjoyed our meal

We didn't bother with desserts (I can't believe that I actually turned down a Tiramisu !!!!), so we finished off with Pommegranate Cosmopolitans (except Bek of course)











We had a really lovely meal and at 6pm (midnight in Italy), the servers got together and sang their national anthem



We left Italy and went to get our New Year hats and blowers in the American Adventure, then we went to the UK to see the UK New Year in









We stood outside to watch the early IllumiNations and we had some Cadbury's choccy too

After spending a good while in the UK, we went back to Italy for more vino and we stopped to listen to the disco. I'm not sure how long we stayed here, but the music was a bit too 'Ibiza' for me, though it didn't stop me & Jules doing a bit of 'gangsta' dancing (oh the joys of having a sober teenager with you, who is happy to remind you of your embarrasing moments the next day)











To be honest, the rest of the night is a bit of a blur. We went to Germany for a drinky and at some stage we were at a disco in China, and ate there too and we saw the New Year IllumiNations either in China or Norway (and I believe our 4th drink was bought in Norway too ~ shock, horror )

Paul seems to think we left around 1am. We passed a disco by the main fountains (which sounded good) and we said our goodbyes to Ian and Jules near the bus station

What a fab night we had. I wish I could remember what we chatted, joked and laughed at all night, but we had such a good time ~ thanks again Jules & Ian for a great time, fingers crossed for 'The Best New Year's Eve Ever - Part Three'

We went to get the bus for the Pop Century, and there was enough people ahead of us for 4 or 5 buses !! We got back to the room around 2.20am and I was out for the count in minutes

Thanks Lauren. Becky's hoodie was from good old Asda, she got it a few months ago
