As a teacher, I've seen my share of unusual names. I'm afraid to mention them here, because with my luck, the parents would see what I posted. But I have to share this one, with the names changed, of course:

Jack - Older brother
Jacks - Younger brother

They made the younger brother a plural! I mean, really, could they not think of another name out of all the names out there?

It's spelled Caillou. - DS used to watch that one when he was little. But I've never heard it anywhere else.

Comedian, Chris Rock, said he knows a black couple that named their baby Niger, after the Niger River in Africa. He said no black person should name their baby that. There are people who don't know how the "N" word is correctly spelled, or think the name is that word and they'd be calling this kid, "Hey N-----."

I worked for a pediatric dentist for a bit and we had this one lady (who was a hoot!) that named her son Semaj. She said it was James spelled backward so she could remember his Dad's name!

Worse, they will never hear their name said properly for the restaurant table wait list. "Table for the (garbled name) is ready."

We've had a family of animals: Bear, Coyote, Etc.
A family of gems: Jewell, Opal, etc. Jewell is a guy.

We did have a Ben Eaton but he moved.
I've also had a couple students with unusual spellings of Michael, Jason, and Isaac.

I have a normal name, but there are many different spellings, all perfectly fine. I can never find anything with my name spelled correctly on it. My name is Kerrie.

My sister's name is Tomorrow. As in, when her mom was pregnant with her, she was so sick of people saying the baby would be born "tomorrow" that she decided to name her that.
My friend is named Summer, her daughter is September. Not sure of the reasoning behind that.
People in our school have 2boys, Dakota and Montana, and 2 girls, Savannah and Michaela (not sure how Michaela ended up with a non-geographic name!).

The strange thing that I've seen happen is, people want to name their kids the "name of the year" - Aiden, Ava... but try to be unique in the spelling - wake up, people, there will still be 14 Aidens in the kid's kindergarten class!

Aayden, Aden, Ayden, Ava, Ayvah, Brittany, Britney, Britany, etc...

I'm trying to imagine all the nursing/retirement homes in about 60 years with all these 'cutesy' named people in them.

Peaches, Pixie, Moonlight, etc might all seem cute on a baby, but on a 80 year old grandma with a biker tattoo from her younger years...
